Impact vs galloway bodyguard mag extension.

The Galloway Precision Bodyguard extension comes with a 10% increased magazine spring to ensure the follower gets pushed all the way up in the now longer magazine body. Impact Guns suggests stretching the factory magazine spring to solve this problem. For $8 more, I'd get the Galloway version...

    New member, new purchase

Nice purchase! Still one of my favorite deep concealment 380's. I have and recommend the Galloway kit. The current version of the trigger kit is their best iteration. I also enjoy their aluminum mag release, safety delete plug, and a few other goodies on my Bodyguard. The parts install can be...

    "Must Have" Shield Upgrades?

If you're carrying it; a comfortable holster with good retention. If you have larger hands; additional 8rd magazines. I own two and have only bought holsters and extra magazines. Some people complain about the factory trigger; but I shoot it great. Several hundred rounds through each. Totally...

Best ankle holster for our M&P Shield?

I've carried with a Desantis Apache Ankle Rig holster for over 6,000 hours. These are typically 8-10 hour shifts. Zero issues, ever. I wear long tube socks and strap the holster over my sock for added comfort. Never once during a shift have I had to remove or adjust the holster due to discomfort.

How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

It was/is an Academy exclusive model. https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/mp-9-shield-flat-dark-earth-finish-no-thumb-safety-0 If I can get my camera phone to work, I'll upload my own photo.

How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

Shield 9 1.0, Black, non-safety - $279 + tax, GrabAGun.com (local pickup) Shield 9 1.0, FDE, non-safety - $329 + tax, Academy (local pickup) Both in 2017. I would buy a 2.0 Shield, but the Gen 1's are just fine. I may pick up a Shield 45 at some point in the future though.

Why do I see so many used SD9VEs for sale?

At one point the M&P Shield 9mm was going for $279.99 new (with rebate extras). I've seen new Walther PPS M2.0 ~$349-399. The Canik TP9SF $349 new, AMAZING trigger. I would consider any of those pretty hard over the SD9, unless the SD9 was considerably cheaper. I think that's where the market...

Keep Shield or upgrade to Sig P365?

12 + 1, the magazines are just a hair longer. I like it even better. Curious if Sig will offer 15-rounders?

Keep Shield or upgrade to Sig P365?

True. I'm also on the email chain for several pistols that typically sell within an hour of being in stock. Right place, right time I suppose. Picking them up at their storefront tomorrow.

Keep Shield or upgrade to Sig P365?

My local Academy managed to get 2 in-stock. $499, with night sights and two 10rd magazines. GrabAGun has the 12rd magazines for $43/each. Ordered two myself. The 365 fits very nicely in the Desantis Dual Carry II leather holster for the Glock 42. Sig Sauer P365: Quick Look & Compare - YouTube

Keep Shield or upgrade to Sig P365?

I'd like one, but not for MSRP. If/when they ever lose their "unicorn" status, I'll pick one up. For now, I have two Shield 9's that I carry and have no plans to ever sell.

    I Miss Shifting

Shifting for me is all about vehicle control. Not all the time, but more often than not it is an advantage to be able to downshift and rev match instead of braking. Without the ability to control your gearing, the ECU decides for you and it's not always a clear communication from car to driver...

    Why do you carry?

"Why do you need that?" If you have to ask, you won't understand. Everyone needs to find the answer within themselves, or not. I don't believe any other person can convince or persuade a gun into (or out of) your hand; it's something you must decide for yourself.

    .380 vs .38spl...

If I sold every gun I shot that had a malfunction I wouldn't own any guns  They all malfunction eventually, even if it's because of user error or bad ammunition. Maybe I'm only a 98% shooter :D

    .380 vs .38spl...

My .380's are what I termed 'kitchen guns'. They are what I pocket or ankle carry when working 8-12hrs in a restaurant. They deep conceal and are near impossible to spot. Glock 42, Bodyguard 380, and LCP II are my flavors. They all have 500+ rounds thru the tube now, 98% reliable. There's always...

    A New Bodyguard 2.0?

It's a company that makes aftermarket parts for firearms. For the BG380 specifically, they have several parts. Bodyguard 380 Performance Parts :: Smith & Wesson(R) Performance :: Galloway Precision

    A New Bodyguard 2.0?

Definitely curious what changes will be in store for the 2.0 Bodyguard. However, I've absolutely no wish to get rid of my Bodyguard 1.0. Being Galloway Precision equipped in nearly every regard, it's a sweet little pistol with a great trigger now. I'll never get the money back I put into it, so...

Has Anyone Received Their Ammo & Mag Loader??

Purchased two Shields, kind of expected to get two rebates. I received one from FedEx today, with no word about the another. They're both listed on the Milano site, but I'm not about to get on the phone with S&W and waste my time hunting down the other one. Honestly, slightly disappointed...

Has Anyone Received Their Ammo & Mag Loader??

I received an email confirmation of shipment on the way from SAW. Roughly 3 months from purchase date. Happy it’s on the way.

    The J-frame: a carry 'mystery'.

Agreed. Who here has a 28-30" waist? Anyone? Who is 130-140lbs fully clothed? Anyone? Frequency of carry has a lot to do with it as well. I'd fully believe someone out there carries his revolver 24/7, 365 days a year at work and at home no matter what. However, that person is the exception...
