Brand New Performance Center Sticking Open (out-of-battery to the rear)!

Welcome to the club. The only explanation and solution I have seen is to lubricate as described on page 25 of the manual, especially figure 31, points 6 and 7. Fixed mine.

Performace Center 9L Problems Out of Box

I have a PC Shield and a PC 9L. My triggers are exactly the same as the video. The 9L trigger is really lousy, does not compare to the PC Shield.

    New Shield Owner

Turn 90 degrees and point the gun down range. Problem solved. I must have the gun across my body similar to the videos. Believe me, I have tried about every method.

    New Shield Owner

You will go broke before the Shield loosens up enough from just shooting if you are using the wrong technique. Same for the hand exerciser except insert dead for broke. Maybe one of these will help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g2amo3bNh8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSiOq_uvCmg

    Shield issues...

This is the most logical explanation I have seen. I never saw anything like that and did not find any brass that appeared damaged. Gut feeling that something did get stuck in the slide.

Follow-up on sending my Shield back to S&W..

Yes, I know. Apparently I was not clear, the link is on Smith and Wesson's website as if they endorse it. Why in the world would any company put a link to anything that shows incorrect information, especially something that might damage a product? I would never have known how to disassemble...

Follow-up on sending my Shield back to S&W..

I went to Smith and Wesson's website and the M & P Shield page. There is a YouTube link that shows pulling the trigger for disassembly. This is the link from Smith and Wesson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xVUJAxv3SM&feature=youtu.be
