What is the front sight stock height in the M&P 2.0 9mm 4.25”

Yes I prefer the 2 sight picture. It’s natural for me, it’s what I was taught in the Marines, and it’s what I’ve used for over 30 years. In other words I ain’t changing it. For steel plates, I get petter picture alignment. For duty carry and qualification, I can see the target better. For...

What is the front sight stock height in the M&P 2.0 9mm 4.25”

My shot placement is way low with stock sights. I either have to cover target or put the front sight dot about 2/3rds higher than the rear dots. So I want to buy a lower front sight. To keep my normal point of aim. I carry a duty Glock 19 so I want to stay with a familiar sight picture.

Best personal defense Ammo for shield 9mm?

Speer Gold Dot LE is very common for police agency's in Georgia. The state troopers went from .45 gap to 9mm and spent a lot of time testing ammo brands. Also tested on a windshield. I don't have time or money for that level of testing. So I just trust what they use.

    M&P 2.0

Local gunshop had demo day. I shot 10 rounds for free. 9/10 were all in once tight group. One round was just a little low and left. This is pistol is a homerun. Best shooting pistol out of the box I have ever shot. If I purchased one I don't even think I would change the trigger bar or...

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

Check again, buddy. I said I would contact the gun store and see what they say. As in let them inspect it in person. As other people have mentioned it could just be dirty; you failed to read those comments. Plus, they can also contact Smith and cover the shipping back to Smith. I never once...

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

People like me have bleed for our rights, as a Marine. People like you are why we have such turmoil in our nation. Your assumptions are wrong. I purchased and paid cash for the gun. I've read several other chat boards and threads that have talked about several gunshop salemen that didn't...

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

Very well said. I agree 200%. Look at it this way: most guns are later transferred (sold or traded) that don't include the owners manual or accessories. The subsequent owner would probably look at the barrel stamp for the ammo required. 9mm stamped on the barrel would result in 9mm ammo...

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

I did hesitate to not use the moon clips. Looked in the manual and it didn't clearly mention 9mm must use moon clips. It did specifically mention .45acp. Looked a few times through the generic revolver manual. I did notice the warnings not rimless. I just failed to know what rimless actually...

^ that's what I'm learning. I purchase the 929 on impulse. I had went looking to handle a Raging Judge. We are getting a lot of home invasions in my area. So I was looking for a coffee table gun that would be easy to grab. -just an excuse to buy a new gun :). I saw the 929 "performance...

    929 going back. Horrible accuracy

I know the 929 will primarily be purchased by gun enthusiast who typically reload. But these guns are also sold to people who don't reload and the average joes. It's a black eye, IMO, for S&W to sell a "performance center" labeled weapon that requires it to be fitted, tuned, and then use...

BMT ordered yesterday. From research the Tk moon clips are some of the better ones, in still researching which moon clips are good. I don't need super tight competition moon clips. Just need some clips that will work with what we ever ammo I am using; reloads, surplus or home defense.

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

I did pause and look into the manual, after seeing that the 9mm case looked to have a thin rim or even be "rim less". The manual only directly talked about .45acp. It's was labeled 9mm on the barrel and the 9mm fit into the cylinder. Silly me. I won't be the only idiot to shoot the ammo...

 it's great that you gave me that advice. I don't recall a specific section in the manual that talks about the special coating on the 929. They mostly only talk in generic terms.

It was Saturday afternoon. Kinda of doubt they are open. The large local gun shop is right near my house and I'll check with them. They may provide great customer service and handle it for me. If not I'll content smith.

Thanks for the tip on the range brush. I looked and it's clean. I'm sure my idiot tail bent the extractor as I tried to use it to grip and push out the stick brass. I can see a ever slight gap on just one side of the extractor and cylinder.

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

I wasn't looking for competition ammo or tight groups. I just wanted trigger time to get used to the weapons pull and recoil. It's a revolver and should eat up anything loaded into it.

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

Agreed. I spoke with a 929 owner and he used the same gunsmith. He claimed a lower DA and a lower SA pull. I wanted to research the 929 before I had it "tuned". To see if it's any such tuning is within proper specs. It does feel like there is room to polish it's rotation. Or I could just...

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

Thanks for the advice. It's an ever slight amount of bend. maybe .01 or .02 of a inch. Just enough bend to cause friction in gun that was factory right to start. I'll contact the local big gun shop that I purchased it from and see what they advise. Thanks again.

New 929 owner and I broke it first day at the range

I will check with the gun shop. They are a rather large store and I bet they will work with me. I bet a good gunsmith with a smooth grip plier could easily and slightly bend it back into level shape. It's just enough bent to stick and cause friction. I didn't pound on it with a hammer, just...
