9mm HST 147 JHP VS 9mm Ranger T Series VS 115gr Critical Defense

if you will shoot the 9mm more due to ammo cost I say go for it. You'll be a better shooter, and using modern jhp ammo its plenty. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the 357 SIG because I carry a 357 Mag in places where I want more punch than what a 9 mm offers (the woods). For civilian use (me)...

    New Here. Thinking About 2.0

Same here. The 2.0's are nicer than the Glocks, but there were a few things that held the original M&P back. Glad Smith improved on the original and made the 2.0. Loving mine. OP, get one I think you will like it.

    38/357 Brass Question

Starline standard pressure and +P marked brass is not different what so ever other than the +P marking which is used only for identification purposes. I read this directly on their website.

    38/357 Brass Question

I bought some HBWC and am going to run standard pressure loads in the 500 38 special cases I have with 2.6-3.0 grains of Bullseye for 750-800 fps (and wow has the price on Bullseye doubled! Crazy!) I really enjoy shooting 38 special loads to work on my revolver reloads and just general fun in my...

    38/357 Brass Question

It is still made as I also have a box of nickel plated Remington HTP (LSWC-HP) that has the double cannelure. I bought the box a few months ago in new packaging so not old stock.

    38/357 Brass Question

Thank you for the quick responses, and the additional information about the 38 special cases with the two cannelure crimps on the brass (I have a lot of that too). I'm going to proceed with case prep and load these. Happy shooting!

    38/357 Brass Question

I am new to reloading for revolver cartridges (have been loading auto cartridges for years), and have noticed that most of the 38 special and 357 Mag. brass that I have saved has what looks similar to crimp groove markings 1/4 down from the case mouth of the brass. Can someone please help me...

    Any news about a M&P9C 2.0?

Anyone have any updates? I'm too wanting a 9c, but prefer to wait for the 2.0 to avoid purchasing the Apex additionally. I love my wife's 9c but it needs an Apex for sure. 9c is perfect size for conceal carry.

Which S&W Revolver Do You Carry Most?

I only use revolvers for carry, and I often carry two of them with speed loaders. A model 36 Chiefs Special goes in an IWB holster concealed. Depending on where I am going for the day I may CC carry the chief with my 686+ 4" in an OWB holster carried openly. Chief goes everywhere I go without...

    Do only "old"guys edc revolvers

Fora long time I favored autos. I mostly only have revolvers now since they are more suitable to my needs. Chiefs special easily conceals and is comfortable. Something I will actually carry on me all the time so it made a lot more sense than any auto I had. Better to have 5 shots in a snub that...

    S&W 586 Classic

Congratulations, and I think you made a good buy. I wouldn't, and don't let internet riff raft over an internal lock stop me from enjoying the new S&W revolvers. Especially when the lock can be disabled. I really like the classics, and for the price that they are going for used I say get a new...

    Went window shopping today.....

A model 36 came home with me

Congrats!! Seems like quite a few people have become new model 36 owners over the past few days by the new threads posted. I just got my first model 36 a few days ago as well, but have not had the chance to shoot it yet. Let us know how you like it once you shoot it.

    New S&W revolver owner

Sweet gun! The 686P in 4" barrel is by far my favorite gun. I'm not a big fan of anything less than 4" barrel for shooting 357 as there is just too much velocity loss but that would be one sweet gun for self defense with 38 +p rounds. Nice revolver!

    Joined the J-Frame club

Congrats, I just joined the club as well with a model 36 "Chiefs Special". Best conceal carry option is a J frame IMO.

Barred from concealed EDC at home

Just picked up a S&W 36 "chiefs special" for conceal carry. I have to say that the thing is so small and comfortable to carry that I don't even take t off when I'm at home. Its so comfortable to carry I just don't even think about it being there and as I get used to carrying it I find myself...

.38 Spl. vs 9mm for CC

I prefer the 38 special between the two because my 38 special revolver is a 357 in a 686p. Now that I'm getting my CHL I'm going with a j frame for conceal carry. I like being able to exchange rounds between the two. Easier to stock ammo and I like the versatility. I like this video because it...
