I use Tetra gun grease on the bolt rails thats it other than wiping down metal surfaces with an oily rag.

Mad Falcon, 10-4 so do I, I use the Tetra Lub and Tetra grease also on all of the internal, makes cleaning a breese.. That stuff stays on the metal and wards off blow by sticking to the metal.
Update: I forgot to mention, when new, I run my rifle clean with Hoppe's oil and very light lub. Run at least 2500 rounds thru it, then I do a deep clean and Tetra Lub. If you use Tetra Lub before breaking in the rifle, it doesn't have a chance to wear into each other to get that smooth broken in feel we all want and love. I only ran 2000 on the M&P before doing it, since it worked so well out of the box.

The Hoppe's will probably work fine. But so will the same standard milspec CLP you use on your other weapons.
About all that needs lube is the bolt rails and maybe a drop on the extractor and tip of the trigger where it contacts the hammer (sear). Trigger group really needs none and repeated disassembly will enlarge the holes in the lower receiver. A drop or two there if you insist.
Avoid grease or anything thicker than CLP, especially on the bolt rails. Grease adds friction and slows moving parts.
