Just saw a S&W NATO Gamebird Mod 10 Shotgun in 12 ga. at the local pawn, and their willing to let it go pretty cheap. I've tried the search on this forum, and on the web, but the best I can do is someone saying it's just a nicer version of the 916.

Anyone have any experience with these? I was thinking it could be a low cost project for an HD / truck gun, but I don't know if they have any reliability issues or problems.

TIA,

2hawk, The NATO designation was a model name used by Montgomery Ward in the 60s for some of it's guns. These NATO guns were made by various makers and the GameBird model was made by S&W, using the Model 916 pump shotgun. I have had a .22RF SA revolver marked NATO and made by H&R, and also a 20 ga. SS shotgun made by Mossberg and marked NATO, both sold by Wards. Thanks for the tip on the above shotgun at the pawn shop. I arranged for it to be acquired by one of our members who was very happy to add it to his S&W long gun collection. Ed #15
