I recently purchased a used Mod 1000 in 20 gauge. I have been reading threads dated back to 2010 but couldn't find a remedy for my problem. I have a 20 ga. The gun cylces perfectly but when the cycle is complete I have a "dead" trigger". I can empty the gun and cycle it by hand and the trigger cocks without any problem, but the trigger will not cock for the next round when the gun cycles itself with shells in the gun. I have watched a you tube video on the assembly of a mod 1000 12 ga and it shows one of the action bars to have the slots turned up and the other one to be turned down, but on my 20 ga I don't see any way in the world that the bolt carriage can be placed on the bars in this manner and be placed inside the receiver. One of the bars actually has a "v" stamped on it to show how to align it, but the other side has no such mark. Would this have anything to do with the cycling? Any other suggestions on what might be amiss?

Try the following.
1. Thorough cleaning with a degreaser, oil very-very lightly.
2. Check the rubber gas ring, it may be deteriorating, replace it with a neoprene ring.
3. Is the barrel fully tight?
4. Make sure the gas ports are clear and the gas piston is clean.
5. Lastly after all the above try a different brand or stouter ammo.

hello model70 and thanks for the response. All the steps that you have listed have been taken. Additionally, upon acquiring this gun a couple of months ago I called Frank at LSG manufacturing to get his take on this shotgun. He immediately advised to go ahead and replace the hammer spring and the neoprene washer, which I did. I have tried light, medium and heavy loads in this gun; including reloaded AA, remington and kemen and new ammo. I shot it again this morning and it cycled one time as it should have by autoloading the second round and firing normally, but after that it resumed firing one shell, loading the second with no charged hammer....just a dead trigger.

Have you tried loading one shell only in the chamber, firing and then dry firing to see if the hammer is back and the trigger then works? This might let you know if the shell being loaded is dragging and slowing the bolt rearward travel.

Does the 2nd shell stay in the magazine until the gun is fired?

Have you tried magnum loads? Are the gas ports clean and not carboned up?

Just found this old post. It has a schematic and the same issues as yours.
