Default 1854 Stealth 44mag accuracy report??

Anybody shoot one of these yet?? Would love to see how they shoot for groups/accuracy.

After getting burned with the Henry X shooting 5-6 plus moa at 100yds. I'm really cautious about buying another new gun.

My Ruger 96/44 shoots cloverleafs at 100 yards. Just sick of the stupid 4 round mags. Plus the lever falling open. Shoots so nice though hate to get rid of it. Especially for something I can't hit a paper plate with.

Kind of what I thought. Saw one video guy was shooting off bench at 25yds. Has only got 1.5-2.5 MOA with a red dot. What's that 100yds, not good.

A 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" group at 25 yards is 6-10 MOA! You do realize that don't you? 1" is approximately 1 MOA at 100 yards. A MOA is 1/60th of a degree of angle, 1/36,000 of a circle or, again, approximately 1 inch. It makes absolutely no difference if open sights, aperture sights, a scope, or a red dot sight are being used. You really need to understand what a term means before using it.

I do agree that 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" group at 25 yards is p-poor for any rifle! A shotgun with slugs will generally do better than that, depends on the shooter.

Looking on the big auction site I see them for sale in 357, 44 Mag, and 45 Colt.

It would be nice if they had a 22" or 24" in 45-70 and 444 Marlin (my favorite).

One question mark is sufficient.

If you are contemplating the sale of a 44 rifle that will shoot cloverleafs regularly at 100 yards, PM me.

I love straight walled cartridges and anything that shoots them. Most of my guns, on average are 3 MOA. That includes a No.1 in 44M and a new heavy barrel 77/357 bolt gun. Now occasionally, I get a zinger. But that’s not normal.

I only assume the new Smith will shoot 3 inches or less at 100. But you really don’t buy a lever gun for glint edge accuracy. At least I don’t. That new Smith is really nice. I didn’t think much of it until I actually held one and felt how slick and light the action is. Their price is right in line with a nice Miroku.

Did you call Henry? I have an x model that will shoot 3" easy. Probably better if I had better eyes. Have you tried different loads?
While small groups are better. I consider the .357 a 100yrd rifle and the 44 a maybe 150yrd rifle, so 3" is fine. And while I wouldn't be as happy if it was 4". It's probably good enough for anything I'd ask the rifle to do. I have bolt guns in rifle cartridges for longer shots

What loads were you using? My Henry Big Boy X in 44 mag shoots 1" @ 50 yards w/ Hornady 240 XTPs over H110. Haven't shot for group @ 100 yards mostly because that's not what I intend it for. It's sighted in at 50 yards, but would have no issue reaching out to 100 if needed.
