Fake suppressor!! Please read post before flaming me to death. Thanks MP15-22 PIX and LINK INSIDE

ya ya ya... I am all about being functional, not adding unnecessary weight, real world use, etc etc... But I hate the way the straight barrel looks on the mp22's. So after SHOT 2010 they should be releasing the threaded barrel version mp12-22 and possibly fakey suppressor. But for you guys that already have the mp22's this would be an awesome upgrade to hide that ugly plain barrel.

No flames here. Someone might like that look. Just need barrel with threads.

I like the plain barrel, but for those that don't I've seen folks add a flash suppressor that looks pretty cool that won't have the weight of a fake noise suppressor.

No flames. The 15-22 is a great rifle for gadgets, gizmos and decoration. Near 4 feet of rail space and I didn't see a tactical-function-only restrictions label for it or the barrel. :)

Threaded add-ons like the fake supressor look cool. I'm not a fan of set screw type add-ons of any kind that extend beyond the muzzle.

heres mine, its more of a intregal look but it doesnt add length to the gun and it balances the rifle out quiet nicely

Here's a picture of a 15-22 fake can at the Vegas show. Too bad Maxi wasn't there to take some better pics!!

THAT CAN IS DESIGNED TO LOOK LIKE A REFLEX SUPPRESSOR, NOT TO SHABBY:D

Here are some pics on the spanish exporter website. To be honest, those pics confused me:

why not? to some guys the black rifle needs to have "something" on the end of the barrel. i'd prefer anything over the stock flush barrel. wish i'd have known they would be threading them so soon. i'll just have to get mine turned down at some point in the future.

This begs the question-"Why?"

Why do grown men have an uncontrollable urge to dress up and accessorize their M&P 15-22? That's a question best left to Dr Phil. (No relation)

Now... on to more substantive discussion. When will Larue start making their Index Clips in pretty colors?

Why would one go to the trouble of putting a fake suppressor on a gun??
Kinda like putting on a fake flashlight.

Because they like the looks of a can but rather not spend several hundred dollars for a stamp and suppressor?

I suspect some folks put flashlights on their 15-22 for looks too. The G2 is popular for $30.

because it looks cool while my real can isnt on it.... most people at the range just figure its supressed if either is on the gun... by the way everyone that has picked my gun up since the fake can went on it has loved the feel of the rifle. it is more balanced.. and i believe it was Hatcher that proved anytime u hang mass off the end of a barrel u reduce nvh and acheive greater accuracy

I shot my new 15-22 (44 years old but it's the first rifle I've bought myself) today, for the first time, so I'm still learning.

I thought the small, open thing on the end of the barrel is a flash suppressor and the can thing is a noise suppressor. Am I wrong?

Also, I don't like "bling" but the plain barrel end does look a bit simple to me and I'd like to add the small open flash suppressor. Hopefully, I will never need to use my 15-22 for self defense but making it look more like a high-power rifle can only help.

We shot it today in the country so appearance wasn't an issue... but I don't want to look like a poseur/dolt at the range. Will I get laughed-at if I have a flash suppressor on it?

Any advice is appreciated.
