Would Jody's smaller shroud fit? Maybe buy it and cut it down to size or maybe Jody can throw it in a lathe for an additional cost??

May want to contact Belt_Fed, he seems to do custom order work and everyone seems very pleased with the results. I'm considering having him make me up a shroud like the silencer used on the H&K MP5SD models, just need to check if he can do set screws instead of threading, as mine is plain barrel model.

What is the distance from the back of the FH to the front of the barrel nut? My shrouds will fit perfectly and add 1/8 inch to the muzzle. So the overall length would be shorter than it is now.
Some places ban the use of barrel shrouds on pistols, so make sure it's copacetic where you live.
It looks like all that S&W did was chop a standard hand guard.
A Yankee Hill Mini free float hand guard tube (4.15 long) would look great on the pistol.

I would not mind if it was a bit longer to give it that cool fake can look.
The concern in sliding a fat beefy looking piece into the foregrip is that the inside diameter of the foregrip is smaller in the pistol, and the inside diameter of the foregrip is larger in the rifle, and therefore doesn't seem to lend itself to accepting something that will slide down inside it AND be as big and beefy looking as they are on the rifle.
(see photo below of forgrip inside diameter differences)
I woulld like to find or build a barrel shroud that butts up against the foregrip and leaves no gap, or a very minimal gap. I would not mind if the barrel shroud made the barrel look longer. A nice big beefy looking barrel shroud would be nice.
Any suggestions are most appreciated.

Put my threaded barrel shroud on, in place of the flash hider. Now it's a fake suppressor. We have some oddball lengths 2.1, 2.8, 3.1, 3.7, 3.8, 4.25, 5, 6 and 8.5 inch.

Can you post some pics of any of them on a 15-22p pistol please?
Thanks!

Shroud as FAKE Suppressor.
I don't have a pistol to put the shrouds on, sorry.
The back of the shroud, now a FAKE supp. (FS) will go against the front of your crush washer and stick out whatever distance you choose. The O.D. of the FS is 1.125 inch or 28.5mm.

Do you see the crush washer in the last pic above? Or are you referring to what is at the end of the flash hider?

The FS would take the place of the factory FH.
Our shrouds fit inside the hand guard all the way back to the barrel nut because the bore for the barrel nut is larger than the diameter of the shroud.
The hand guard I.D. is smaller on the pistol because the factory cut a rifle hand guard to the shorter length. The I.D. is tapered, or it would never come off the core of the mold.
Note, there are no undercuts for the hand guard end cap clips.

Resurrect the thread
I had the fortune of getting this pistol and also very interested if a shroud exists that could go over the barrel inside the smaller diameter forend of a 15-22p. The shroud, like usual, would screw on to the threaded end flush with the end of the barrel or a touch longer. I'm not interested in making the barrel longer than stock flash suppressor. I also don't want the fake suppressor look that starts at the crush washer and extends outwards (making the barrel significantly longer).Does anyone make something like that or willing to do one custom?
Thank you.
P.S. Thank you to GunDoc who started this thread and posted such excellent photos to help explain the difference in the forend diameter of a pistol vs rifle 15-22.
Edit: spoke with Kineti-Tech guy and they definitely don't make anything small enough to fit the forend diameter. Suggested changing the forend guard.

Don't know why you talked to them first.
Ours goes all the way down to the bottom of the hand guard.
Just get the custom fit and provide the length you need, or get the 4.5 inch long threaded one and trim it to length yourself.
