Good alternative to a Eotech clone
I was going to order a Eotech clone but I have been hearing people say that they are really junk and to not waste my money. Does anyone have any experience with this sight?

If you haven't already taken a look at Primary Arms they have a wide variety of optics that are well suited to the 15-22. I have a Gen8 MicroDot and very much enjoy it.

There is a thread here with a good eotech clone in it, I bought one aswell, as I really like the look of it.
And as Phill said, loads of people love the PA-stuff. Might buy one myself if the EOtech-clone isnt to my liking.

There are some decent reviews and videos of G&P Eotech clones out there as well. You might have a look at them, just to see what you think.

My neighbor has one of the chinese Eotech clones on his bushmaster AR and it is just as nice as my Eotech 553. The major difference is that my red dot shines better in the day light, otherwise they look almost identical.

ive got a rrages.com clone on my 223 AUG and it holds zero very well.. im sure, if i looked directly into the sun light with it it will fade out so i just dont look directly into the sun light with or without the optic.

I bought an Eotech XPS 3 Clone about 2 weeks ago and I finally was able to try it out yesterday at the range. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I had to make some minor adjustments but once I did I blew about a 2 inch circle hole through the X in my target from constantly hitting the bullseye. I love it and can't wait to get back to the range.
Oh and I bought it on Amazon for $100 and it had EXCELLENT reviews!
I hope this helps.

Do these people actually own one? I have an XPS2-0 on my M&P15 OR, and it is a battle quality, first class CQB sight. They are rather expensive (I paid $410 for mine after rebate), and if one makes sense for your inteneded use, or if it's worth that much money to you, well, those are valid questions. But EOTech = junk, that's really funny . If your use case involves CQB, and your life depends on it, EOTech is one of the BEST choices out there. Functionally the EOTech may not be that much different than the cheap ones, but durability of the EOTech is in a tootaly different class. EOTech are very expensive professional tools that are worth every cent, if you need that.
We have a 15-22 also, and on that we have a Osprey Holo sight. For our use there, it is perfect. 4 different reticles, green or red. I think it's this one:
Osprey Tactical Reflex Red Dot Sight 4-Pattern Reticle (8 MOA Dot, 20 MOA Circle with 3 MOA Dot, Crosshair, Crosshair with 20 MOA Circle) with Integral Weaver-Style Mount Matte - MidwayUSA
I have a CMMG .22 LR upper coming for my M&P15OR, and don't want to spend $400 on a sight, so I came here to see what was being recomended for lower cost holo sights (besides the Osprey that I already know).
Belt_fed - Is the "Sightmark Ultra Reflex" the one you have? It might be ok for my CMMG upper, as I'm not going to be shooting at the sun either .

Oh! That would be me. I mis-read your post. Sorry. It's obvious now, I probably should not post in the morning. At least not before 2nd coffee.
Well then, as I said, I have the EOTech on the 15OR, but also my son has the Osprey clone that I listed above on his 15-22, and for the purpose, we like that. I may try the Sightmark Ultra Reflex on my CMMG upper. I'd really like it to match my 5.56 AR exactly, but I'm having trouble spending another $400+ for another EOTech. Even having had both, it's a pretty hard call. I don't think any of these clones are as durable as a real EOTech, but IMHO some (such as the Osprey) offer more features, and make a nice much cheaper alternative (for non-battle use, especially rimfire). I don't have experience with any holo sights besides the XPS2 and the Osprey clone.
Once again, sorry for misreading your post.

No problem, just wanted to make sure we are all on the same page. I am still up in the air now, I really like the look of the Eotech but it does seem like they are hit and miss. I would read all the review's on the Sightmark Ultra before you buy, I read a lot of negative reveiws on that sight.

I've been pretty happy with my Eotech clone. I'm selling it to fund a PA Micro because I'm going a different route with my build, but it's not due to any dissatisfaction with it.
