went to a gun show and bought a UTG model 15 foldable foregrip for 20 bucks. Put it on and this thing moves an 1/8 of an inch if not a little more each way. Are foregrips supposed to do this? I dont like it. Can anyone recomend a decent foregrip that wont break the bank, less than 50 bucks. thanks for yuore time.

+2 on the AFG (2 here). Feels really natural once you try it.

However, I also have a vertical grip for close-in shots, so my lower rail has an AFG2 near the business end and the RVG behind that, in front of the mag well.

RVG would be a good choice for a vertical - compact, with a nice oval profile in the hand and also allows use of the thumb-over grip.

The AFG feels quirky and uncomfortable to me,, for me its a complete waist of money cause u can just hold the had guard if that's how u want your hand,,,,, now the RVG is very comfortable in the hand and for me when shooting for double taped groups nothing compares to a VG

Me too. I'm more comfortable holding my covered rails without an AFG.

That's what makes life so much fun; different strokes for different folks. :D

Having shot other people's firearms I decided long ago I don't like vertical grips. No-grip is OK (I don't have any on any other rifles) but on the 15-22 the AFG2 feels more comfortable for my style of shooting.

I now have an AFG2 in my parts box. Whenever I get around to building a railed major caliber AR, I'll try it out again.

hell i let mine go to a friend on an even swap for a grip pod lol
;)

After many foregrips and positions, I have decided I don't like any of them. My preferred method is now a handstop positioned on the 9 o'clock rail. I position my support hand so that the webbing between my thumb and index finger is pushed against it, and I find I have a lot of control and it is extremely comfortable.

I bought the magpul afg2. It dosent fit tight on my 15-22 either it "wiggles" forward and back a little.

I bought a dirt cheap generic one from amazon it lacks spit and polish but fits my hand great and doesnt budge any.

+1 for Magpul RVG and Grip pod. Had the AFG 1 and sold it for a profit :-)

Awesome grip but wasn't right for me.

Then you haven't tightened it up properly. :)

You were right. When I first put it on I only had a small srewdriver and didnt want to strip anything out.

I dug out a large flat-tip and tightend the screw more and now it dosent move at all :)

Any foregrip i have attached to the 22 has had a little wobble. To solve the problem i just ran 2 pieces of electrical tape, one on top of the other right over the rails where you want the forgrip to sit. It jams it in place a little and is a little harder to take on and off but i figure beggers cant be choosers. I also have an AFG2 on mine and love it. I use the short utg quik release on my bushmaster and love that also. choices choices....
