just a regular 45 degree mount would do the same thing. get 2 if you want to mount iron sights. Or 1 would do for a red dot

I thought about that but the red dot either has to be left on to be instantly ready and will lose battery power or it has to be turned on to be used,,,, the factory sights are far to large and would be rather bulky

Red dots at 45 degrees are much faster to use than fixed sights. You don't have to line the sights up and find your target. You just flip the gun over and the red dot should be there so all you have to do it lay the dot on the target. You have both eyes open so finding the target is a no brainer. In competition I always leave my red dot on for the entire match. Doesn't matter whether I am using only a red dot or a red dot and a scope.

ill be some what varmint hunting with this,,,, so we are talking all weekend at a time,,,, so battery operated stuff is not an option,,,, that's just one more thing I would have to carry,,,, so irons is what IM after,,, not some cool factor

Ok, but red dots can last a really long time. The Bushnell trs-25, which I have, is rated for up to 3,000 hours. From a single CR2032 battery! Thats just over 4 MONTHS of CONTINUOUS use. If you want iron sights thats fine, just letting you know that batteries shouldn't be much of a concern for a 48 hour period. And I keep an extra battery in my magpul grip.

ill be keeping the houge that comes with my Performance Center 15-22,,,, i cant stand the feel of a saw style grip or a magpul grip,,,,, and i had no idea that lil dot sight could last that long,,,, i may look in to it,,,, have u used it out side in the sun light to see if its bright enough for day light use

yes, its more then bright enough for me. I usually use setting 3 or 4 and it goes up to 11

I think some of the really big buck red dots last 20,000 between battery changes...

Fortunately I can buy lots of CR2032 batteries (for my TRS-25)for the price difference.

Let's see 20000/3000=7 7X$3 =$21 in battery costs...

( I do have an Aimpoint CompM2, the battery lasts a long time 10,000 hrs [100,000 hrs in NV mode])
