Hey guys, new member, new to the 15-22, not new to guns, I posted an introduction in the other forum, but would like to ask you guys a question.

I have seen multiple rifles in the picture thread that have the Mako mag-well grip installed, and I love the way it looks and could only imagine the way it felt in the hands, so I purchased one. It arrived last night and it will not fit over the magwell. The inside of the two halves have a groove cut to fit the outer lower edge of the magwell, but they do not line up with the magwell on the 15-22.......

For those of you that have it, how did you make it fit?

This is the item I purchased (I purchased locally, but this is an online link): MAKO-FAB 223 RIFLE MAG WELL-FUNNEL GRIP-MWG BLACK | eBay

Anyway, it appears they only make one model for .223 style rifle, or am I totally wrong.

Thanks

Dremel!

The magwell grip will fit, with some modification with a dremel. I used both the sanding drum, as well as sanding discs to gradually removed the minimum amount of material to make it fit. Alot of trial fitting, but if you take your time, you'll have no problem.

There is an older post with pics that helped me out when I did mine.

Hello, and welcome, be patient, someone will come along and give you the info you need, i remember reading somewhere on this forumn about using a dremel to modify it a bit, pghrich

No but there are ones on the market for the 15-22. Personally as a competition shooter I don't recommend them. Putting pressure on the mag area in a gun with a polymer frame will likely cause some inaccuracy. But hey if you like the look and feel of using them then go for it. I think the guys using the Mako modify them to use on the 15-22. Look for any threads that concern that or do a search.

Guess i should have narrowed down my search a little more last night. Thanks for the replies.

I guess I'll just have to break out the Dremel and go to town on it seeing as i can't return the damned thing, what's the worst that could happen, lol.

like this?

This one has been dremeled to fit. M&P15-22P is quite fun. Nice part of the Mako Magwell Grip is that it prevents magazine malfunctioning due to weak hand grip interfering with follower button movement.

Its the one thing out there I would like to try, but posted fitment issues have kept me from it

What is this about there being one fitted to the 1522

I'm going to work on getting mine to fit this weekend hopefully. I like the way it looks and the wife likes the way it feels on another rifle of mine.
