That's the difference. I've been shooting some of my firearms for over 40 years and currently shoot about 15k or more a year, including .22 LR, 9mm and .40 S&W. It's a rare outing that I shoot less than 500 rounds of .22 and another 200 rounds of 9 and .40. FWIW, my High Standard match .22 was built in '63 and my Garand in '43, rebuilt in '85. Everything I have is in excellent condition but not a single one is what one would consider "pristine". Pristine firearms have no character, they're just pretty.![]()
I kept my Glock 19 when I retired, and that gun has thousands of rounds through it. It still looks like new. Fire it, clean it, periodically wipe it down and it still looks like it is brand new. I'm from the school of you take care of it and it will take care of you.
