New to the forum but bought my 15-22 in november and am looking to get a ACOG scope with a reflex sight and was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion. Not looking for anything fancy, just something to add and have some fun plinking.

Blades, I appreciate your input here but just looking for some advice, not sarcasm. Have seen a few setups around with that mount and its the one I liked. To each their own.

Methinks he meant acog type generic scope. Not the $1000 plus real thing. Just saying.

Yea, thats what I meant, from all the researching around I did I didnt know what else to call it.

Take a look at Burris AR-332:

AR-332 Red Dot Sight - rifle scopes, handgun scopes, hunting scopes by Burris Optics

Has a similar style to the ACOG, even uses ACOG bases / mounts. I have had mine for about 3 years and it has held up well on numerous center and rim fire rifles. The rail on the front of the scope will accept the Burris Fastfire series of reflex sights if you wanted to go that route.

Looks like an awesome scope, but wanted to stay between $300-400 for both. Hoping there is an option out there anyway.. :/

I have no personal experience/knowledge but if you're looking for an ACOG style scope, the Lucid HD7 has some great reviews (reputable gun/shooting websites and forums) and I haven't seen any negative reviews. It costs around $229-$249, if you can find it. They are about as scarce as chicken teeth but can find on ebay occassionally for $229 NIB or the Lucid website has them for $249. The latest verions in the Gen III so take that into consideration when you're buy from anywhere but the Lucid website. I was going to buy one but got tired of waiting for a "deal" which ain't gonna happen with the current market.

I ended up buying a Primary Arms 30mm red dot that was $69 plus $10 for the cantilever mount. Turned out to be a great little red dot and it also has good reviews from reputable gun sites. They also have a 3X red dot magnifier with focus ring and azmuth and elevation adjustments for $69 that I'm eyeballing right now - figured the scope was such a good deal for quality of the scope, I might take a chance on the magnifer.

Based on my experience and what I've read, Primary Arms also has great customer service and turn around - I ordered on a Sat afternoon and got a shipping notice Monday about 9 a.m.

That's just my two cents...

I've have had the Bushnell Trophy on mine for about ........can it be 2 years?

Really like it on my 15-22 moe.......it's a little big and heavy compared to other red dots...... but it gives the 15-22 a more AR15 weight/feel.

Looking at CrazyFingers link..........it looks like they have a 2X version now.......for $250 vs $157 for the 1X......might be nice on a .22lr

Primary Arms has a good rep for the money.........

Don't be too hard on Blades........ at first I was thinking the same thing WOW...a +$1000 sight on a $500 rifle that only shoots to about 100yds.(22lr)

I just did a quick search of ebay and there is a couple Lucid HD7 Gen III's for sale on there for $229. If you're interested in still getting one. I may pick one of them up, thanks bro.

I run a real 1.5 ACOG on a carbine, and a Bushnell TRS-25 (about $80) on the 15-22 clone. Other than one having an amber triangle reticle and the .22 a 3MOA red dot, the Bushnell 1x works just fine out to 50-100 yards.

Spend the extra $ on a match trigger and ammo.

I have a NcSTAR version. Mark III 3-9X42 rifle scope with a mini red dot attached. I like it a lot. It has kept zero and it switches between short and long targets like you would expect it to.

These things are easier to decide when you identify what your criteria is.

With my 15-22, I shoot off hand and like to bounce soda cans and other debris inside 50 yards. So I wanted something very light weight with a wide field of view for fair weather shooting that was budget friendly . A 1x red dot Primary Arms MicroDot was the perfect fit.

An "ACOG style" comes in a lot of varieties, Magnified, non magnified, red dot, simple crosshair, BDC, illuminated... all designed differently to meet various shooting criteria.

What does "fun plinking" translate to?

Obviously I mistook you. However the original post said you were "looking to get a ACOG scope with a reflex sight". You didn't say acog clone, acog like, acog wanna be, you were pretty clear. If you look around the site a little I think you'll be able to see why it's not hard to take you at you're word, some people go simplistic and some people have spent 3x what they spent on the rifle on gear for it.

Worded that way I would say it again. I wasn't slamming you though, welcome to the sight and enjoy.

Okay this is something I've also been wondering about. Ive looked into it a bit, through research on this forum as well as YouTube and customer reviews. I'm curious about the ACOG replicas... It's like blasphemy to talk about it in most of the threads, I know, but as I've seen, the newer gas blow back airsoft rifles have a kick almost comparable to the 15-22. So has anyone actually had any experience with them on there 15-22? I love the look of ACOG's and the 4x is what I'm wanting, I just can't justify a $1500 optic on a $500 rifle. Anyone know of a company making one stateside with a MRDS that's any good?

I do like that, but seems a little cheap for what it is.. Is NC Star a decent brand? If thats not a bad little deal that would be perfect for me.

Its not a trijicon, but I think it would work fine for a .22lr. I know a guy that has one on a 5.56, and hasn't had any problems. I personally run a primary arms red dot, but if I was looking for something that style I would definatly consider it.
