Hi everyone

I tried looking for a part list but couldn't find one for the 15-22

I'm looking for the part number for the ejector spring, ejector follower/pin and the ejector ... hope I have the right names for these, the three small pieces that fit into the bolt not the extractor that resides in the gun

My gun is 3 weeks old with 250rds through it (CCI mini-mag) and last range session (my third with it) I had loads of FTE's and then realised that the bolt was missing the ejector, spring and follower/pin

Has anyone got the parts numbers please and how common is this issue in 2013 ? I saw earlier posts saying there was an issue that was fixed with anti-rotation factory mod on the follower/pin ?

If this is still an issue is there a third party solution ?

Thanks in advance everyone

Raj

This is a UK owned 15-22, so I would expect a bit of hassle (not to mention substantial delay) in arranging a direct return to S&W in the US...

Technically, Raj would have consumer rights with the seller under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (satisfactory quality; durability), but I can see that if there was any way for him to get replacement parts direct from S&W, it might allow him to fix it himself and get the rifle back up and running a lot quicker.

As a UK 15-22 owner myself, I would be very interested to hear if S&W were amenable to sending out spares of this kind (non-pressure bearing parts that wouldn't require any UK firearms licensing shenanigans) to allow overseas owners to effect their own minor repairs...?

I still don't see this being an issue.

Raj, first try calling S&W with the extractor part numbers that Scopes posted. There is a chance they will ship them out if your s/n shows all 'improvements' have been made, however, since an OOB likely caused the extractor to get blown off they may want to have it checked out. Viking Arms in Yorkshire should be able to do the warranty repair.

Good luck, and please post back after talking to S&W.

The extractor is in the bolt; the ejector is attached to the barrel

thanks everyone for the part numbers and the extractor/ejector clarification

I'll let you know how it goes re: my warranty

if it was OOB that caused it, would I have heard anything strange or see any evidence of this ? the inside of the gun looks normal when I stripped it ?

Well you did have something wrong when you stripped it, the extractor was missing :D.

Usually you will hear a different report, but it may not be obviously louder. The only way to know for sure would be to examine the ejected case.

It's possible you didn't have an OOB, and it was caused by a bent rim or perhaps the spring failed during normal operation.

If you are planning to call S&W, keep in mind tomorrow is Labo(u)r Day here in the US so they will be closed.

My wife's rifle had the same issue spring and plunger were still there, but the black retaining clip was gone. Called S&W They stated that those parts are not available for sale, they are all part of the bolt group. Waiting for shipping label.
