I put a CMC trigger in my SBR 15-22 and the pins don’t stick out far enough for the retainer clips. In fact, they’re slightly recessed.
Would some KNS non-rotating pins solve this issue? I would imagine the screws could get me the 1/32” I need.
Mechanically squeezing the frame together didn't sound like a good idea so I didn't try it.

I ran into this problem myself even with the KNS Anti Walk Pins. I didn't realize that the KNS Pins were for traditional AR15 vs specifically for 15-22. Even with the threads, you'll need the correct set because the notched end won't fit the retaining clip. You are almost there :)

Perfect. I just ordered the correct pair.
Now if you can get my baby out of NFA jail, I'll be set.

Everything is slightly less-wide as it would be on an actual AR. I would assume it is because its 100% polymer and needed to be more sturdy than an all aluminum AR.

For instance, the KNS anti-rotation pins work fine... but only because they are wider on an actual AR to fit into the no-walk detents. They fit flush on the AR, but the "caps" allow for a wider attachment. Other pins, like those with the screws on each end work great as well. Any one of them can be substituted when installing a new trigger.

The same for the ambidextrous safety... if you use one from an actual AR (like mine with the Magpul levers), it's a tight fit at first, but they work themselves to be more smooth. Unless you get one designed for the 15-22 or that is a little more "universal".

Its due to the molding of the parts for the 15-22. They are molded from an actual AR and therefore slightly thicker than an actual AR.
??? I'm curious where you came up with this? The lower receiver is thicker because it's polymer and needs to be thicker to have the required strength/stiffness.

That was a theory... did you keep reading? Maybe you missed this part... "I would assume it is because its 100% polymer and needed to be more sturdy than an all aluminum AR" - I modified the post so as not to confuse you further. :)

Aside from great triggers Geissele also has trigger pins that are PERFECT in the 15-22s' wider lower receiver. PART# 02-269 Large Pin COLT 901 Replacement Trigger & Hammer Pins

Am i missing something?
This larger pins are for Colt AR's which use the larger diameter pin for trigger and hammer hole than other major AR manufactures.
This pins will not work in a 15-22 which uses the standard diameter pins and requires a pin that is longer than mill spec AR's.

Yes and no. The description is misleading. These are the small diameter pin, they're just longer. They have the same groove placement/spacing as std AR pins, the extra length is outboard of the grooves. They are the correct length to sit flush with the outside of the 15-22 lower receiver. I have a set (along with a Super Dynamic 3 Gun Trigger) in my 15-22. I sent Geissele an e-mail to verify what they were before I bought a set, should have bought them at the same time I bought the trigger but I didn't know...

"COLT 901 RIFLE USERS PLEASE SEE ARMORS TOOLS FOR PINS (PART# 02-269) THAT WORK WITH THE WIDER RECEIVER"

Note WIDER RECEIVER.

To clear up a bit I think I'm reading in this thread...

Standard AR KNS pins will NOT work on the 15-22.

They do make sets specifically for the 15-22 that are the right length with pins that are a tad longer.

Any standard AR captured pins will squeeze the sides of the lower and cause binding.

Sorry, for a basic question but a bit new to the aftermarket trigger conversations. I am thinking of getting the CmC Trigger like the one on Optics Planet for $170ish. Do I understand correctly that I will need to also purchase the pins above in your post?

Bluest, you will need a set for the CMC. You could put the original pins in, but the CMC doesn't have spring legs to retain them. I used a set of KNS 15-22 pins when putting the CMC in my 15-22 pistol and another putting the Geissele SSA-E in my 15-22 rifle. They work great and look cool, too.

When I ordered my CMC trigger for my 15-22 I also, at the same time, ordered the CMC anti-walk pin set for polymer lowers.

Installed the CMC trigger with the CMC anti-walk pins - once and done.

Like a Boss.
