How to remove stock from 15-22 rifle?

I want to replace the stock at the end of the tubes, but I have been looking at the stock for a half hour and cannot see a way to remove it from the tubes...

So...what's the secret?

And I assume a mil-spec Magpul stock will slip on...yes?

It would be nice if S&W's manual were a tad more explicit for us dummies.

Yep! There is a video in the thread GhostMutt linked, that video shows you exactly how to remove the original style stock and install a MagPul stock. A "Mil-Spec" stock is the correct size. My 15-22 has a MagPul MOE stock on it, and it is a mil-spec size
