Salem 6 Magazines

Never heard of them. If they can actually pull this off, congratulations. So far no one has ever been able to make a reliable double-stack magazine for the 15-22.

There was a user here a couple of year ago developing one, but could never get it to function reliably and gave up the project. I'm not sure it ever went into beta testing. Many of us, including me, volunteered to help but nothing ever came of it.

I'd also be curious how they got around the S&W patent issues that shut down Plinker Tactical and ProMag's offerings for several months.

I will not pay someone else for the "privilege" of doing their beta testing; if they want me to beta test, they either pay me or provide me with free samples of their product.

If these Salem 6 mags were to work, they could be nice since they look like they're only slightly longer than a factory 10 round mag. Would be good for bench or prone shooting.

Doomsday Industries. They're still around. Still have the 15-22 ambi charging handle available at their web site (Doomsday Industries, M&P15-22 ambi charging handle)

Their Facebook page is still active and shows a few more concept products, including a trigger, barrel shroud, and the mags.

My guess is that it would have to be a completely unique design. If I recall it was the follower in the PT and ProMag's magazines that violated Smith's design?

As far as I know, you are correct about the follower. The design can't be all that unique to work with the 15-22. I note that the web page is copyrighted 2012. That means they have been working on this for over two years.

It will be interesting to get some input from an actual user. Despite my feelings about paying for beta models, I may actually buy one to see what the design is really like. The only problem with that idea is it is illegal to sell anything over 10 rounds in this state, so that idea is out.

I'll post a report when I get mine.. I'll run suppressed and unsuppressed supers and subs, rapid fire too...

factory mags and/or the 32 rd promags + Macfadden lighting loader is all i need.

I have 10 x factory 25rd mags plus the McFadden. While I like the look of those lil mags I highly doubt they will make their way to the Good ol UK so I will have to miss out on trying one out. The Charging Handle, however, would be a great optional swap out. :D
Hmmmmm. Now there's a thought???? How to get one over the water????

I'd like one for bench shooting, but then I'd love a standard shorty 10 rounder. They are impossible to find here. I can get 25 rounders out my ying yang, no 10 rounders.

I can't speak to the quality of the 15-22 parts from Salem6 since I do not
have any. But what I can do is speak to the quality of their products and
service because I do have items from them.

The hand guard assembly on my MKA 1919 is made by Salem6. It's
made out of a super high quality polymer (think Magpul) with billet
aluminum end caps. It was $99.00 and fits like a glove and accepts
the Magpul MOE rails.

This charging handle is made by Salem6. It's machined out of solid
steel and has a mil spec parkerized finish. The fit was perfect and if I
recall it was less than $30.00

If you're talking about that Doomsday ambi charging handle, they mentioned getting ITAR approval to ship overseas, but still waiting on customs. Saw that on their Facebook page.

Would be nice to see that come through.

:D

I like the look of the Saffa made charging handle, the one kaybak has....but my plinker tactical w/latch functions perfectly well......but I am a sucker for a nice looker :p

Hi GM

I sold my PT one on when I got hold of a Tacticool 22 one. Then added a more personal latch from NDZ.

I too like the ZA one but I have lusted after the Doomsday one for a while now.......

If it comes off I will have three to swap around, though you never know, I may try and source one just because, which would, with the supplied one give me 4 to swap around and mess about with.

I also an SWS latch which I may swap around at some point or put in to another Tacticool handle.

:D

Nice Mka 1919. Just got done building my Vepr 12 and planning what to do with my Mka 1919. I can't decide if I should keep the stock lower receiver or T&N aluminum one.:)

Just ordered two... they're just the right size I think... always thought the 25 rds were too long and the 10 rds... well anyway I think 20's are just right... :D

Skip T&N for the lower and go with SAS...

Machined from a solid hunk of T6 on a 5 axis CNC.

Sorry to go Off Topic but just wanted to help out a fellow MKA
owner! :)
