New M&P 15 22 owner
I pulled the trigger and ordered a M&P 15 22 for $428!! Its the model with the threaded barrel and flash hider. The local gun shop called today and said it was in but im waiting on my wifes Walther Colt M4 22 to come in as well so i can pick up both of them at the same time!!! Wednesday morning cant get here quick enough!!
What scope would yall recommend for $100 and under?? I would like to be able to shoot out to 100-150 yards max but will probably be shorting mostly under 100 yards. Is there a scope that you can adjust magnification that would work for both close and long range??

Primary arms makes some decent affordable optics. Here is their 1-4 power scope.

Best of luck on that Colt. I have heard some pretty negative reviews on them. I could see her liking your Smith better and then her trying to steal yours.

Welcome to the forum. Lot's of good people here!
Hope you enjoy the new firearm! I concur with Desert Five-0, just keep it away from the wife if you want to keep it. Hehe

I use a red dot (unmagnified) for 100 yards, but then my eyes are good - 4" clays are no problem, as are soda cans.
As far as the wife is concerned.... She liked the 15-22 so much that we bought her one. When I obtained my suppressor, she liked it so much she wanted one, but didn't want the added length, so we had hers integrally suppressed... Still 16" long, quiet and light...
Adding the wife to the shooting sports has allowed me to enhance our collection (of guns and nfa items). We now have dueling trees as well...
Nothing wrong with getting the better half addicted to the 15-22 IMHO...

I ended up putting a Nikon Rimfire Scope 3x on mine. I'm thinking about replacing it with an Aimpoint or Eotech Clone. Mine is Mall Ninja Cool. I'm sure your wife will love the Colt, actually I prefer the looks of the Colt

The 15-22 also has a 'pink' version. From the research i did when choosing between the different 'AR style' 22lr platforms. I read some pretty poor reviews regarding the colt and obviously went with the 15-22....I LOVE THIS RIFLE. As soon as i changed the pistol grip, added a BAD lever, a better charging handle, nice optics, lightened trigger springs and lots of other doodahs and add ons. It is nearly complete....
I would like to hear your opinions on the differences between the two guns once you have shot them both. I hope for your sake that she prefers the colt.

Just my 2 cents but if she is going for the muddy girl look you should check out the M&P 15-22 in Purple Platinum. Looks to me the camo scheme is close to the Colt. If not they have Harvest Moon Orange, Pink Platinum, & Realtree. If it was me I would cancel the Colt and get a M&P 15-22. I have 2 and they both run like clockwork with no problems.
