What's your favorite semi-auto .22 rifle ?

PRACTICALY SPEAKING...

I've gotten along fine with a few real accurate 22lr handguns & a Win 22MXTR & a Ruger 7722 bolt 22mag. Sure the win 94, Ruger takedown 10-22, S&W 15-22 are fun, but kind of a phase. I kinda like old stuff & about anything Belgian Browning.

I suppose that my Ruger 10/22 early version with the walnut stock with cut checkering...wearing a Leupold 1x4 scope has to be the most useful and accurate .22 that I have. It will literally shoot cloverleafs at 50 yards, depending somewhat on the ammo.

I also like my Browning .22 autoloader, the old breakdown version, partly for nostalgic reasons. It is a slick little gun, and really classy.

Best Regards, Les

My favorite? Who knows. I like clickety clacks. Savage model 87s and variants. Don't own one. Not going to either. But have shot several, have worked on a few, and I don't know, I like those junky things for some reason. Have 4 10-22's. Race guns, stuperstock, built up bench gun. None are really my favorites though.

Close to thirty years ago I bought a Marlin 995 semi. Its Marlin's magazine fed .22 semi action in a walnut Monte Carlo stock. Over the years it's acquired ghost ring sights and a DIP adjustable trigger. I've also replaced the factory plastic trigger guard with a steel DIP guard. It's my go to varmint .22 still my favorite semi .22.

Late in 2017 I bought a CZ455 American bolt action .22. Between work and cold weather I haven't had the chance to properly wring that one out yet- but so far it looks promising.

It may seem odd of me to post this in a 15-22 forum, but my favourite semi auto 22lr....is actually the 15-22. ;)
In the interest of fairness I have shot, lots of 10/22s factory and tricked out. Pretty much all of the 22lr 'black' rifles (HK, Sig, Beretta, Remington, Anschutz) I have yet to have a go on the GSG german variants, stg 44 and mp40. They look like fun. But yeah......the 15-22. No comparison.

Ruger 10/22 International. The one I like the most was a limited edition for Walmart in 1997/8. Full black/gray laminated stock, flat rubber butt pad and a stainless barrel with matching receiver...

My Favorite(s)....

My first gun--given to me by my father--an early 70's Marlin Model 60 18 round "Squirrel".

And my recently acquired Marlin Model 50--circa 1935--right on the cusp of the changeover to the A1. Marlin's first semi-auto .22. A Christmas present to my son this year.

STG 44 weighs a TON, not fun to shoot, plus mine won't site in below 100Y without grinding

Remington 552 Speedmaster

My first firearm purchase, 55 yrs ago was a Speedmaster. Foolishly traded it away for a nice 28-2. Just received my first 2018 present, a nice 552 in original, non-BDL trim level, to replace that boo boo. These things run fast with that unique, lightweight bolt group that will handle .22 short. They're not the safest arm with no bolt latch and difficulty seeing rim of round in chamber, but they sure are fun for rapid plinking.
