Just picked up a LEO compact with night sites and ambi safety in 357 Sig. Anybody got one? What do you think?

I've got the 9c and like it a lot, and am thinking of a 357c. Would love to read what you and other 357c owners think of it, particularly felt recoil and "snappy" feel, if any, from the .357 Sig round. I know this is a potent round; my question is -- is it too much for a light pistol? Thanks in advance.

357 Sig

That was my question, but I am not getting any responses from shooters who have shot that round.

The M&P357c has been my CCW for about a year. I also have compact and full-size versions of the same gun chambered in 40S&W. It definitely does have a "snappy" feel but it is, also definitely, not "too much for a light pistol".

My wife and I periodically shoot close-quarters combat drills with a small group of guys and, after sessions where she uses the gun, she will complain of a sore wrist; but 150 rounds in three hours is a lot of shooting and, ultimately, she's as competent with the .357Sig as with any other weapon she uses.

We're both happy with having made the purchase.

I hope this helps.

I haven't shot a M&P357c, but I used to have a Glock 33, which is the compact model in .357SIG and I loved it. You had to hang on to it, but I didn't think it was too much. I put a .40S&W barrel in it just due to ammo availability & cost, but I love the .357 round. I'd like to get .357 barrels for my M&P40 full size and compact.

357 Sig Barrels

KKM Precision has drop in 357 Sig barrels for the M&P Compact. I have some Glock KKM barrels and they are great.

Carried a Glock 33 for 6 years as a backup and offduty. I shot the M&P .357 and sold the Glock 33. Installed the DCAEK in it and wow, what a difference. The M&P handles the recoil of the .357 much better than the Glock. There is much less "snap" to the M&P, and I have found that it is more accurate, too.
