Hello,
On my M&P full-size 9mm, the "blue paint" on the recoil spring is at the front (muzzle end) of the spring guide; every other M&P that I have field stripped has has the paint on the spring near the seat( where the spring seats under the barrel). Is this something that is random, or should the spring always have the blue end oriented in a particular way?

Well, as the instructor in the armorer class mentioned, the vendor may reverse the orientation of the painted end. ;)

My last 40c recoil springs have the yellow paint at the front, BTW.

My last .45 springs are unpainted.

it should be on the front.... BUT.....
You want to make sure the HEX is at the muzzel side and the Round-Part is at the back.........
Make sure not to make that GRAVE error.

If you do you will pinch that spring in your gun ...
and its a bear to get open (Field Stripped). be advised.

Just cleaned my M&P 9mm Pro and the blue paint is on the back of the spring, away frojm the muzzle end, on my gun. Don't know if they are all that way. Good Luck.

the spring paint is irrelevent. (I've seen them both ways)
You just want to make sure that HEX is at the muzzle,
and the round part is and the breach area. =)

If you reverse that.... you will have a nice little project to fix.. =P
