Has anyone used dura coat or some other type of coating on their M&P? I was thinking about changing it up a little. Any thoughts/ photos would be great. Thanks BTW happy owner of M&P 9c
Some people are coating parts of their M&Ps with Nickel Boron. Failzero, EXO and WMDGUNS do nickel boron--WMD lists M&P specific work that they do. I have a Glock 27 they did and it looks very nice and smooth, with not a single surface irregularity. I have seen too many 'do it yourself' duracoat jobs that didn't look that good. If you have the equipment and skill set, or pay someone who's good to do it, you might be happy and still pay less than nickel boron.
The n.b. does make the gun's slide move quite a bit easier and I have to clean it much less and then it's easier to clean than duracoat, tenefir or melonite finishes. The n.b. coating typically results in a color somewhere between tan and golden, although they're are some color options. WMD Guns
