Does anyone know if the regular M&P front fiber optic sight from HiViz will fit the M&P 22 or is there another model that will work? I just picked one up and want to outfit it like my other M&Ps.

Yes the dovetails in the slide are the same size as all other M&P's.

I would be interested if this works also. The people at Smith and Wesson told me no, they are not the same, but who knows if that answer was correct.

I've got a factory M&P front sight that I took off my 9FS, I'll guess I'll check Sunday when my son hopefully returns it. He really liked the way it shot- just said the trigger was a little heavy and gritty.

Does anyone have a part number for the sight that that gentlemen used with the two white dots?

I talked to HiViz today and their fiber optic front would "not" work on the M&P 22. They said they would have one out - with a set screw- in about 2 months.

Damn. Well, maybe I'll have some spare mags by then too, lol. My plan was to put a HiViz on the 22 and a TruGlo TFO on the 40FS.

Why in the world the dovetail would be different on the 22, who knows... S&W also needs to tell Walther to make the slide EXACTLY the same dimensions as the centerfire guns. My 22 won't fit in its big brother's Safariland ALS.

The M&P's are a steel slide and use a press fit front sight. The M&P22's are aluminum and have a set screw, so you don't have to drive them in so hard. If you try to drive in a front sight without a set screw and want it to stay tight, you may damage the slide. Personally, I would not do it.
