Default New M&P9 Full Size Range Visit

Posted earlier on my purchase a new M&P9. I cleaned, lubed, oiled and let the mags sit full all night in anticipation of the visit. I decided to go M&P based of one of the most reliable firearms I have ever purchased- my son's M&P 15-22. I kid you not. That 15-22 has been the most reliable & accurate gun we've owned. I put the large grip panel on and pointed downrange with the Lawman 115gr TMJ. I am thrilled to report that 150 rounds later the M&P9 worked like a dream. I know folks will say that's how all guns perform, but I am telling you from personal experience that this has not been the case for me with multiple big brand name guns. I will post a pic of my target and as you can see I have a left shooting issue. I am a righty with left eye dominate so I gotta cross over a bit. I have never been that good a shot so I know I need to work on trigger control. Maybe I need to investigate trigger upgrades? Bottom line is that I am so pleased with our two M&Ps (M&P 15-22 / M&P9). I cannot thank S&W enough for making quality products.
Forgot to mention- that dadgum slide release is impossible to use. But fortunately when I slammed home a mag the slide released. Hope it's supposed to do that but no way in h*ll can I get the slide release to drop. No big deal to me.
<<<EDIT: I have been educated below that the M&P9 does not use the SLIDE STOP as a SLIDE RELEASE>>>

The "slide release" is not a slide release it is called the slide stop. On page 12 of your owners manual figure 4 shows the nomenclature for the various parts of the pistol!

Ok, ok. I guess I am just used to my Kahr. On Kahr's you must use the slide stop to chamber a round (according to Kahr). The true takeaway from my range visit is that is worked flawless. I am gonna have all my Gen4 and late model Gen3 Glock buddies watch as the brass from the M&P9 rainbows AWAY from the shooter.

glad i found your post and that you finally found a gun that is working up to your expectations. its funny you mention the glock brass ejection issues, i had the worst time trying to deal with that. nice groupings too.

A target pic is useless without knowing distance.
