Hey guys... I have seen a lot of threads that have questions on which Remora Holster to get with the M&P Shield and I am just reporting which I bought...

I purchased the 4 ART w/ Laser (even though my gun doesn't have the laser it is the best fit). The holster fits the gun perfectly and covers the mag release perfectly. Also, the back sites do not interfere with the holster when drawing the weapon.

It fits the gun perfectly and I carry everywhere I go (work, driving, etc) and I never feel the gun and it never moves. My primary holster that I normally go with is Crossbreed but I decided that I wanted a holster from now until it gets made and shipped here. So I went with Remora... now I am not sure if I'll even need/use the crossbreed when it gets here! :)

Here are some pics!

Kind of you to post the pics (love my Remoras) with the info; the forum is a great knowledge base because of the efforts of folks like yourself. Thanks and have a great weekend. :)

May I ask how you like the .40

The store I put my Ruger on consignment at had ONE in stock and sold out of all the 9s. I was debating wheather or not I should wait for the M&P 9 or just get the .40. Im a bigger guy and donty mind the recoil or spending a couple bucks more on ammo...
I am mostly worried about wear and tear on the .40 compared to the 9mm.
Any input?

Looks good but the issue with the Remora was the one with the Sweat Shield if I'm not mistaken.

I sent an email to them asking about having one made like the one that was made for a forum member (it is all detailed in another post) That was over a week ago and they never replied to my inquiry. I'll send up a followup email asking again but if another no reply well then so much for them. I've ordered a N82 in the meantime for my xDs and if works out I'll be ordering another for the Shield (s)

Liked the Sticky I had but wanted a Sweat Shield as well. Wish Remora replied to my original email

I want to order one for my Shield. Their size chart says 6ART.

I purchased the 4 ART w/ Laser (even though my gun doesn't have the laser it is the best fit).

Had you tried the 6ART?
Also, their site asks "With Laser..etc." Do you know if Lazermax is considered small or large?

Thanks for the info!
Bill

I have the 6ART with sweat shield not the reinforced top. I have read the other posts about the special remora holster. I have not had a problem drawing or mag release issue with it.

@Erich Thanks man. When I was ordering my Remora holster I couldn't figure out which to buy because of all the mixed post and then some said one thing another said something else so I figured I would give this a shot and go from there.

@Lopez I absolutely love the .40... It definitely kicks harder than the 9mm but it is actually really accurate. I also own a 9mm S&W M&P Pro Series w/ 4.25" barrel and I shoot just as accurate with the .40 and feel like it would be better for a SD situation. I carry Winchester Bonded Jacketed Hollowpoints and have seen the ballistics at the range and they are awesome. Another point is ammo... ATM I can't find any 9mm but have ran into some .40 here and there... On a side note when I went to purchase the shield I got completely lucky with stepping in a local Academy Sports and they had the .40 in stock for $399 so I bought it on the spot haha. If they only had the 9mm I would have most likely purchased that. Also, as far as reliability I doubt there is too much of a difference. I have shot around 1000 rounds through my full size M&P 9mm without a beat... no misfires, no jams NOTHING. I have put around 100 rounds of .40 through the shield and also... no jams, no misfires, etc. Flawless guns thus far.

@2Tango Sorry to hear that man... I have heard good things with their customer support; however, I have not dealt with them personally. Give a shout out when you get word (if you ever do haha).

@Sham You won't be disappointed! I got mine in 3 business days... but I also live in FL which is where they are based out of so it wasn't too long of a ship.

@OldBill I haven't tried the 6 ART and I saw that on their site as well but heard from a couple of forum members that they ordered the 4 ART w/ the laser option and it was a better fit so I thought I would give it a shot... I don't see how it could be a better fit TBH. If you have a lasermax that is a different story though... It would make the gun bigger and the 4 ART probably would NOT fit.

Thanks lone-wolf. I bit the bullet and ordered the 6 ART. I have to add that I called Remora early Friday afternoon with a question about the fit. It was no surprise that I got a recording saying essentially we cannot take your call at this time, leave a message. (This is what I expect in this day and age.) What was a surprise was that less than two hours later, they called me back to answer my questions! The caller was pleasant, friendly, and helpful! I was impressed! You can't ask for more than that!

I have at least one Remora for every piece I carry. They are great holsters.
My avatar shows a Remora 6ART-RFT (re-enforced top) ARTEMIS and my 9mm Shield. Compared to the OP's photos, it looks to me that my Remora is a bit more cut away from the magazine release area.
As I stated in the other Remora thread, beyond the avatar, I can't get photos to post here.
If you're on the fence about buying any Remora holster, their website is posting a 20% off sale until the end of this month!
