Default M&P 9mm model number

I just purchased a M&P 9mm. I have been reviewing the paperwork and noticed that the model number for the gun is MP9F. I have not been able to find that specific model number on the S&M website showing all of the M&P 9mm variations.

What is the meaning of the MP9F designation and what distinctive characteristics does this model have compared to other M&P 9mm's?

Look on the end label of the box your gun came in for the model number or SKU. It should be a six-digit number like 209301.

This I believe there's 3-4 different model #'s for a fullsize 9mm.. Could be the range and carry kit, safety, no safety, ma compliant, etc.

Look at the sku's here:

Dude you've got to get off the S&M web site if you're looking for Smith & Wesson information.
