Are the full IWB holsters comfortable and are they tough on the guns finish? I have always been a leather guy.

I'm not fussy about finish on a working service pistol. Holster wear happens regardless of the material. Comfort and utility are my top criteria. I like the SuperTuck holsters.

I've carried my M&P 9c in Comp-Tac Infidel since 2009 with no significant problems.

I've got around 13K rounds thru it now but I took this picture at about 6K.

Most of the wear you can see are small shiny spots on the trigger guard. That's where the retention takes place. The slide of the pistol doesn't really contact much of the holster except on draw, and that depends on your technique.

For me, retention, speed of draw and ease of re-holstering makes Kydex the best choice. Plenty of others prefer leather. You'll have to see for yourself. I have more holsters than pistols, having tried many types.

Glock 19 going on 3 years in a IWB holster. In and out of holster several times a day and no wear. Ironically the only wear is on the top back part that is opposite side of the holster. I guess my shirts and jackets rub that part

Glock17 holstered on full kydex for 4 years and mp9c for 4months. They both look like new! I love kydex. I also make my own kydex holsters too so I guess I'm very particular when making them.

my Glock, Kahr and now M&P9c are all carried in a hybrid leather / kydex holster. Supertuck, Kholster and now:

I didn't like the 100% kydex feel when in IWB uses. For OWB 100% kydex was fine. For wear/tear, like earlier comments, maybe a few shiny spots on the coating, but it was minimal. My guns are working guns, not beauty queens, so I don't fuss much about scuffs or holster rash.

@ Justin.... yep.... and take forever to get. If you are thinking about that type of holster, call Gavin here - price is better and delivery is FAST!

He does a great job. I love the "fleece" backing on the leather too.

My N82 is very comfortable!

I've been wearing mine in an Old Faithful for the past 3 days. Not really worried about the finish. My buddy has a N82 for his LC9 and I tried it with my Shield and it does seem more comfortable than the hybrids.

I've had two different kydex holsters now, one for my 3913 and now one for my 9c, both made by Zero9 Holsters. They are inexpensive but definitely well made.

I love mine.

If the inside of any holster is dirty... and they all get dirty... you will get more grit working on your gun. Kydex at least is easy to wash out.

Short answer, tougher on the finish than leather.

If you're a ninja, more noise holstering,unholstering.

I like Raven Concealment Systems kydex.
