Default Used M&P Bodyguard Trigger Clicking Noise

Hello all, so as the title says, I bought a used BG 380 (without laser) from someone and didn't notice until I got home that the trigger was making a clicking noise at the very beginning of the trigger pull (right off the bat). It looks like the trigger bar isn't moving properly right next to the hammer. My other BG with laser is smooth and I can feel and see the noticeable difference. I'm sure it has no effect on the firing of the gun but it's not sitting well with me. I live in Mass so I can send it in or bring it to S&W but if it's something I could adjust myself I'm not afraid to disassemble the gun. With the slide off the click goes away but there's some gritty feel. With the slide on I can see the the slide moving up almost as if the trigger bar is making contact with the slide. Anyone have any thoughts to what may be causing this clicking sound and trigger bar not moving smoothly? Thanks!

Wife didn't like it. I've sold brand new guns I didn't like right after I bought them plenty of times.

I just bought a brand new m&p bodyguard with the crimson trace and it also has the clicking trigger. Of greater concern is the gap between the slide and frame. I need to measure it but it's a good mm or two. I can clearly see through the gap and even see the main spring in the slide lock hole. Anyone else have that issue?

All M&P's have a gap between the frame and the slide. It's because the slide is held on with two blocks that have the slide lugs instead of full length slide lugs that full metal pistols have. I don't have a Glock but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't the same way.

Since you have two of the and I believe I have read that the internal parts are identical with or without laser you should be able to compare the parts to see if there is any damage etc or slight change in design or even swap individual parts to see which part is responsible.

Sorry I forgot all about this thread. To update, I sent it to S&W and they fixed it but did not send any paperwork as to what was fixed. A year later and it's still good. Took it to the range many times. No more clicking.
