Been trying to locate a holster for my M&P 9mm FS (Left hand) 4.25" barrel with a Weapon Mounted Light (e.g. Stream light TLR-1).

Prefer Kydex, non-ALS, friction retention, in black. Blade-tech belt attachment a plus (or Safariland mounting holes).

Would like a price point less than $50. Use will be for bedside.

I have a Safariland 5197 currently and like it, but it is not shaped for a WML.

Any suggestions or links appreciated.

Did some more looking and found these guys:

KT Holsters - Home

They have a KT Defender that seems ideal, about $60 in black.

Anyone have experience with this holster maker?

I ended up ordering a Safariland 6377, they have a plain black model that fits an M&P9 with a TLR-1 light in left hand.

Model 6377 ALS® Belt Holster | Safariland?

$44.99 including shipping from an online supplier. I like Safariland products, and this had the features at the price point I wanted. Changed my mind on the ALS feature, will try that out.

Try contacting deadeyeluke.com I'm left handed and he could make 1 for me he makes all his by hand and they are kaydex. Takes about a week or so might want to email him first.

Sometimes you need to call and talk to their CS folks because their website is not updated enough to show all the options/configurations. It probably will not be any sooner than 30 days, just because it has to be made, but it might be available. (I had the first ever 070 LH, Commander, in whatever was their nylon compatible finish. Shiny stuff is a safety fail.) The other thing to do is check via search engine for the holster once you confirm it is available, as Safarlland charges full retail and their dealers don't. I'd check with copsplus.com - I htink that's where I got my last Safariland Holster.

I've heard good things and plan on ordering the akela, there are reviews all over that say they're good stuff and they're the cheapest I've found after 2+ months of active, rather than passive, searching for something new for my SR9.

Came across this one, anyone here use one?

The X-FER

$60.

"LIGHT SPECIFIC: This means the X-FER locks on to the weapons light system (currently the X-300 and X-200, X300 Ultra, Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-1s and TLR-1HL) verse the trigger guard like the other holsters available now.

MINIMALISTIC: Our holster is a minimal IWB design made for concealment, stability and comfort."

I think pretty much all Kydex holsters for lights lock around the light not the trigger guard because the light is larger and needs to be channeled out.

I make holsters, but I have yet to do one with a light, so I could be wrong.

There is a fair amount of... fluff talk and claims... around holsters in general, in particular Kydex.

It's not a system, it's holster.

If it's an IWB holster then by definition is't designed for concealment, stability and comfort.

For a bedside holster, just bolt any old holster for the gun under there (It doesn't need to be designed for concealment, comfort and stability then, just holding the gun in place.) or as Rastoff suggests, a magnet.

Maybe I missed it, but why do you want a holster for a bedside gun? Why not just mount a magnet to the bed and be done with it?

Rastoff - Well, I should have said that I wanted to keep the trigger covered, and that this is for either our apt or our RV.

No place to mount a magnet on the bed, and in the RV I want it close by in a wooden cubby I use for my glasses.

Yes. I have an M&P 9 with a streamlight tlr-4. The Kt pistol and mag holster is very nice and a good value.

Well, I finally ordered a KT Defender, LH, for my M&P with TLR-1 from www.kt-mech.com.

Will post a pic when it arrives in a couple weeks.

Received this holster today and I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with it.

It fits perfectly, has adequate retention and the Kydex is well formed.

It's exactly what I was looking for.
