Hello all, new to forum. Looking to purchase a NIB Shield 9 mm and was wondering if anyone could suggest where to start looking for the best current pricing.
Thanks, 99FXD

Someone might suggest a good local gun store, if you added your location to your profile.

If your price shopping, you also need to consider FFL fee's, shipping charges, and sales tax or the lack of tax for mail order.

PSA has one for 349.99 with free shipping for the next couple of days.

Let's be careful out there - Rule to remember

10. NO Links to current or upcoming auctions or promotion of current or upcoming auctions or discussion of current or upcoming auctions, even in vague and general terms, or GunsAmerica ads, Guns International ads, or other internet listing sites should be posted without permission.
Do NOT participate in discussion of current auctions or ads.
Links to CLOSED auctions and ads are permitted.

This might apply, I wouldn't swear to it, but I hate to see anyone get an infraction for forgetting this Forum rule.

Thanks, I came across that ad today and will be ordering in the morning b/c my internet connection is sooo slow! Just wondered if there were any better deals but with the free shipping and an FFL 3/4 of a mile from my house that will charge 20.00 transfer fee $370 all in seems like a deal!
Thanks to all.

Old age and impatience is catching up with me. I've come to the conclusion that I would rather pay the extra $30 or $40 and buy face to face at the local gun store. Walking out with the gun in hand is so much easier than ordering online, waiting days and days for shipping, paying for a transfer and hoping I didn't get a dud gun. It's just not worth it to me.

Most stores will have similar pricing. Just go to a store and buy one. They are not rare or hard to get. Whatever you save you'll end up paying on shipping and transfer fee

My first choice for a purchase is always my LGS - it's only when they don't have it/can't get it do I go the internet route, and for a Shield that shouldn't be necessary.

Shop as many stores as you can, locally and online. I have found that sometimes the total cost difference is more than $100. and there's no single cheapest source.

I think I got rather lucky on both of mine. I bought the wife's 9mm for Valentines a year ago at my local pawn shop, after tax and background, $400. It already had an Apex trigger and tritium sights installed.

Just last week, same pawn shop, picked up a stock .40 Shield, tax, background etc for $380 total. Cheapest price I've ever seen around my area was $379 NIB, they sold in less than a day. I haven't seen any new for less than $399 around here for a while.

Thanks for all the post. Ordered from PSA , on checkout there was an FFL in my hometown that I went to school with. He offered to receive gun and not charge me anything! $349.00 all in was a pretty good deal!

Just remember, the cost of ammo over the lifetime that you own this gun will FAR exceed the few bucks difference on the initial purchase.

Having said that, $349 OTD is a dang good deal. :)

Check out Ammoseek or Gunbot for ammo deals.

Saw several at gun show today ranging from $400 to $525, most plus tax. Big surprise was lack of 9 mm ammo. What little ammo was over priced. I bought a box of Tula 115 gr. For $13.50!!!

That must be a regional thing as well, I haven't noticed any shortage of 9mm or .40 in my area. We usually run short on .22 LR and .223; the .22 is gone almost as soon as it arrives and the .223 prices are as unpredictable as the stock market. Usually pretty easy to find .223 just crazy pricing.

There's a small outfit near my home that does reloads called TN Cartridge, I use their ammo in my pistols (haven't tried their .223 yet). Box of 50, brass case, 115 gr TMJ ball ammo is around $12 to $15 depending on which retailer you buy from, 50 ct. 180 gr. .40 cal runs about $15. They sell to the public but only bulk orders.

As a police retiree, I'm able to buy 9mm and .40 from my old PD. Both .40 and 9mm Winchester ball 50 ct (varies between Winchester or Federal) is $10; HP duty ammo (Speer Gold Dot currently) $25. Limit of two either one though. They also let retirees use the range whenever there's no recruit firearms training going on and at least one Saturday a month is open range for active or retired.
