Got my 9c 6 months ago and was surpried that the trigger was pretty good out of the box. However I decided I wanted a heavier pre-travel in my carry gun so I ordered an Apex duty spring. Got the heavier pre-travel but now the weight to fire the shot was too heavy so I did a lot of the DIY polishing especially on the striker block. Also realized that I could open up the gap on the trigger bar loop which would cause it to start moving the sear earlier in the trigger movement and change the angle to hopefully reduce the firing trigger weight some. Ended up w/ a .032" gap which helped a bunch but there was still something I didn't like in that final pull so went back here for other tips.

I decided I wanted to try flattening and smoothing the end of the sear where it contacts the striker nub. I had already polished all the sear surfaces but hadn't changed the shape. I filed until there was just a little bit of that top angle left and polished it. I now have a trigger w/ a 4# pre-travel and a 6.5# final pull that is very smooth. This last step didn't change the weight of the final pull any, it just made much smoother than it had been.
