Hello my girlfriend loves everything about the bodyguard except the tigger. We both have one and when she shoots she has a hard time with getting the gun to shoot. It looks like she uses the end of her finger with all her strength lol. She wants to keep it and I have been looking into tigger kits. Does anyone have the one in the link? I would like opinions and reviews, any input is welcome.

What part of her finger is contacting the trigger?

I did not. I didn't really look into it yet that much she just asked me about it yesterday I'm not sure if it's the weight of the pull or the length of the pull it's causing her problem. I am leaning toward the length of the pull from watching her shoot.

search on youtube BG380 galloway trigger kit and you can have an better idea. It improves the trigger shortening the pull and reset by 35% but it won't make it lighter, but it is still a good improvement since you won't have to pull the trigger all the way back and more for the gun to shoot, also consider this is some type of a safety feature since the BG is a personal protection gun not a range gun.

Cool I think actually it's the length of the trigger has to travel that it is causing her to have a hard time shooting. Hers has a safety so the trigger pull being shortened shouldn't be a big deal.

Try having her make contact with the trigger at the crease of the distal joint aka "the power crease" for more leverage. This is generally how you want to shoot revolvers or autos with heavier true DAO triggers like your bodyguard.

I have the Galloway kit on mine. It dramatically shortens the length of trigger pull. And as stated already, it does not lighten the weight at all. I think it is WORLDS better with the kit installed!! Also, consider adding a Pachmayr grip cover, WAY better.

IMO the Galloway kit is a must do for that pistol.

The Bodyguard is a semi-auto pistol....with a trigger like a double action only revolver.
I love mine, and wouldn't change a thing.

Same with me,I use to own a 642 and the trigger for a semi auto was closest was the BG380,the long DAO is the only trigger I want in my pocket..I allways try a pistol before I buy no need for aftermarket parts,if you shorten the stroke of the trigger the hammer will have a shorter travel your going to get lite primer strikes..

The trigger kit looks great.But i just use mine for conceal carry now and than.So going to leave it alone. Plus if i had to shoot someone.I wouldnt want to be in the spot light having a reworked trigger.I am in Mass so i leave my shield the way it is to.

Having fired well over 200 rounds now with the shortened Gallaway kit on mine and not having a single lite primer strike/misfire/hangup/etc I respectfully disagree.

Also, the only ammo I have fired has been all cheap Blazer Brass and one box of Critical Defense....

I had the Galloway trigger kit installed on mine and it works great, no light strikes yet, before the trigger kit I did have a few light strikes... I think the kit actual comes with a stronger spring to increase the hit from the hammer... sorry I'm not a gun smith and I don't know the technical terms, I paid someone to install the kit. Also I realize that it's not a range gun, but I have about 300 rounds through it after the trigger install just to make sure I will be comfortable and accurate if I ever needed to use it for self defense, one thing I did figure out is that I use the crease of my trigger finger to press on the trigger and it improved my accuracy and shot consistency quite a bit. Don that does make sense,but Mich I here what your saying ,my buddy installed a kit and his hammer now doesn't go as far back as it once did.I wish you luck with the kit but I like the trigger for what S&W intended it to be and I feel safer for it.
