I saw a thread on here from a year ago saying Leupold was working on a mount. The M&P C.O.R.E. now comes with some adapter plates. (PERFORMANCE CENTER M&P9L PRO SERIES C.O.R.E. SKU: 178058)

So the DeltaPoint Pro still can't be added to this? Or is a plate included now with the CORE from S&W?

From the Leupold website:
DeltaPoint Pro All Mounts Kit is not compatible with Wilson, Novak and Bomar sight cuts. The Deltapoint Pro currently fits the following pistols: Beretta 92F * 1911 * Glock * Glock MOS * Sig 226 * Springfield CZ 75 * HK P2000 * Kimber Fixed/Adjustable * S&W M&P S&W Classic * Walther Q5 Match pistol with included mount* *** S&W CORE & FN-X Tactical adapter plates coming soon.

From the S&W website:
Slide cut to accept the following optics: Trijicon RMR, Leupold Delta Point, Jpoint, Doctor, C-More STS, and Insight MRDS (optics not included)

I think the important part is that Smith didn't say it will fit the Deltapoint Pro and that Leupold said that adapter plates for the Core are not available yet. Looking at those two things I'd say that the DP Pro still will not fit the Core without modification (actually not a difficult mod, but some people are queasy about taking a file to a brand new $700 red dot ) I think Leupold made a huge mistake on this sight. I have the old Deltapoint and it is bulletproof (figuratively) I put over 70K rounds through the pistol it was mounted to and it's still going strong, my wife uses it now.

I don't see where the regular (non Pro) is even available anymore.

It's not, that leaves used and NOS (new old stock) as the only options. Check Ebay, they come up now and then. I wouldn't be worried about buying used, they are really ruggedly built and Leupold will still warranty it.

Well I ask the question in an email to Leupold. This is their answer…

That will fit the core, if you purchase our CORE mounting plate. Part #171203. If you cant find it online, you can give us a call @1800-Leupold and we can get you set up.

I couldn’t find this part number online and since I was 12 in the queue I opted to leave a callback number. :)

EDIT: They called back. The mounting plates are on back order, no idea when they will come in and they are $60.

He did give me the name of a company that he said makes a mount that will fit. I looked at their website; they didn’t list them, but said they start at $160.

Guess I’ll be using a different sight.

Product # 171203, $59.99.

This is the adaptor, I spoke to a Leupold service rep back in October.

Call their CS line and order direct.

They were more than willing to take the order. But they said they didn’t have any and didn’t know when they would have them.

That's pretty poor planning on their part.

Over a year of saying they were working on these
and now back ordered / out of stock.

Lame, now I know why I spent the extra cash on the Trijicon.

The poor planning started when they designed the DP Pro and didn't check if it would fit the Core (S&W used the original DP to design the cutout for the core, every ad picture you saw on the Core when it first came out showed a DP mounted to it). dumb, dumb, dumb.

CORE with DP

I had an older DP worked great, sent it in to repair. They sent me back a new DP PRO and it will not fit on the CORE. Called in, they sent me an adapter, well it fits nicely but no co witness, way to high. So, I'll be back with them next week.
CORE with the DP was super, loved it.

The adapter plate is available at midwayusa and bhphoto. At least this morning. The plate is a flat piece of metal about 1/8” thick which makes the Deltapoint Pro sit even higher.

With the plate, the sight could use more range in vertical adjustment. It is almost at the vertical limit sighted in. This was seen while using a laser bore sight.

Amerigun and a few others make adapter plates however the dp pro is so long it has to sit on top of the slide essentially rendering the cutout useless and setting the optic sky high. I recommend either getting a different optic. My original deltapoint is the only red dot I've had **** the bed on me causing long warranty work. Or you could call L&M precision or someone else to mill out your pocket larger on the core.
