Mag extensions for the Shield?
Hey guys, wanted to get a mag extension for my shield, what are the best ones? I have seen several but I like it to look as original as possible or as neat as possible. Also where online can I buy them? Thanks!

I'd check out magguts.com hear good things about them, but no personal experience. Converts 7 to 9 and a 8 to 10 by only adding a 1/4 to length.
I have the Hyve +2 extender a bit more bulky but I carry my extra mag in a yoke pocket and the Hyve is the perfect length for quick and easy removal

Does that HYVE one print too much?

Yes, I use the standard 7 round in my CC Shield and the Hyve is the extra mag I keep on person. Even the standard 8 round prints too much for me. I carry in a suppertuck at 7:30

Nice idea! Specially since I just got a Fixxer Grip for the 7rd mag haha
The HYVE one for the 8rd looks good, mostly since it has that little "Step?" that the Magguts doesnt seem to have... Did you buy yours online?

I use the HYVE mag. I conceal my pistol at 4 o'clock without any issues.

I use MagGuts +1. It uses the oem 8 rounds for 9 rounds +1. There is no add in length of the mag. I also use the MagGuts +2 but it will hit the palm of your hand for range use when shooting. It's not as comfortable with that back step. It does however give you 10+1

I have 10 of the 10 round Pro-Mags . Work great and I love the extra length.

What's your say on those? All of the reviews online say it's ****. Some say it's hard to insert the mag all the way. There is even a YouTube video showing where a guy had to sand and Dremel away sharp points / edges, just to get a clean fit. Just curious.

I have a ProMag 10 rounder and it works great. Never had a problem of any kind with it through around 100 shots. They have a lifetime warranty so I don't understand all the complaints.

Many thanks... wasn't aware of the lifetime warranty.
By the way... here is the video I was referring to above. This guy talks about sanding down a few rough edges.

Wanting to add a couple of rounds to the 2.0 Shield and resurrecting an old thread in hopes of updates. What's your experience? Magguts, Striker Industries, Hyve Technology or? TIA!

I’ll have to take your word on that, because I will NOT be buying any ProMags.
The only thing they are good for, is to use for magazine failure drills (as the faulty mags).
As I was taught it, ProMag stands for

I have a Shield 1.0 I have a Strike Industries +2 EMP on my 7rd mag which fits fine and adds about an inch in length to the 7rd mag and still keeps the gun concealable .Gives a nice feel to the gun also. I did not like the fit or look of the Strike Industries on the 8rd mag. I also have 5 8rd mags with Hyve +2 extensions. They are a bit more expensive but are well made and work great. They use the S&W OEM mag spring. They add quite a bit of length to the gun making it harder to conceal...which is why I carry them either in my pocket or belt pouch as back up mags. I have had no problems with the Hyve mags. I stayed away from the ProMags and MagNuts after seeing the vids on You Tube of them failing, although others here say they work just fine. The price when you figure in the cost of an additional 8rd mag at $25 and a Hyve extension at $30 is expensive for just 2 more rounds, making them cost prohibitive for some.

My Magguts +2 work fine. I like having 10+1 in the gun with a 10-round backup when I carry AIWB as my primary. No problem to conceal. I recommend them.
I do not have experience with the others, but that Hyve extension looks loooong.

The Hyve extension is long which is why I carry them as back up mags...but the added length also makes them easy to handle and manipulate when having to change mags quickly.

I've been using Magguts +2 with my Shield 9 for a while and love them. I carry the 7/9 round mag with the 8/10 as a back up. I've never had an issue and they're very comfortable to shoot. I've never noticed an issue with them hurting the palm of my hand. Just my thoughts. Good luck to ya.

Been using the Magguts +2 in my Shield with the 7 round mag. Many rounds through it with no problems. I also have a Magguts +1 kit that works equally well. The Magguts +2 only adds a ¼ inch or so to the length. The +1 does not add any length to the mag.

Maggots +2 in my Shield PC 9mm and a Hyve Technologies on an 8 rounder for a total of 10 which gives me 20 rounds on my person. If I need the second mag my tactics suck and so does my accuracy but I don’t leave home without one.
