Got a Sheild 9mm for $320, shipped, a week and a half before the rebates started ;(. Then, got a Shield 45 for $349 shipped, minus the $75 rebate will make it $274.

. Not as good a price as some got, but still a great deal. Missed the $299 Whitaker deal by about an hour, not happy about that, but life goes on! So, I've now got two shields, one for me, one for the lovely Mrs. DMAR, and both for a decent price...

I'm going to pick up the .45 in a few minutes, and hope to shoot it this weekend!

If the online prices keep rising I may as well buy locally, assuming of course the lgs doesn't raise his price.

... which is exactly what's happening around here.

I'm not sure it's even them getting greedy.

I think it may be a simple case of them having to pay more to get enough guns in stock to meet the rebate-induced demand.

I have always done better at LGS on Ruger's, Glocks, and S&W's than any online retailer but this is a different thing altogether with the rebate.......

I was actually about to get a XDs due to their deal but then got the Whittaker's email a few days before April 1st. I was lucky enough to order a .45 (NMS) on that Saturday before they sold out. I was so happy with that but then when they posted them again a few days later for $300 (+ shipping), I felt the urge to order yet another one (accidentally ordered the one WITH the safety this time). Both are now at my FFL, waiting for me to get over there. No need for an XDS for this guy, I guess.

How much did payed originally? I bought one on tuesday for 315 shipped no complains I think is an awesome deal, also you did good cause the XDS sucks had a 9mm and a 45mm both 3.3

If I were in the market I would jump on it but I'm not going to buy another M&P just for a rebate...I already have 3. But I'm happy for those who are saving a bit of $$.

Now if I could get a rebate on another 3" K frame...

I've been looking at the Shield 45 for quite some time but when the rebate came out, I finally ordered one. I went with the Performance Center 45 Shield. With rebate it will be $394.
Actually the previous week it was $10 cheaper. Retailers are adjusting their prices UP!

Sprung for a .45 (no manual safety model) today; liked the slim grip, etc., and decent trigger. My cost will be about $317 after rebate. Don't need it but at the price, who knows--it might be a compact, reliable piece.

A few years back I had a Kahr CW45 that shot phenomenally well and had an excellent trigger, but was NOT reliable. So we'll see what happens with this one.

Both of mine are the Whittaker's deal, so $315.98 each shipped - can't wait to file for my $75/each in order to afford some good ammo for them.

I had held the XDS the previous week and wasn't too crazy about how it felt in the web of my hand but thought the deal was just too good to pass up - glad I waited.

Same here. My FFL had an emergency so couldn't pick up my .45 yesterday, and today I have too much going on. Maybe tomorrow.
