I bought a M&P 9 Compact Monday at a VERY good price, but nobody seems to have any 15 round magazines for extras.

I found the 17 round full size mags at Brownells in a 3-Pack for $64.99, and ordered them. They will do just fine for range duty, and two 17 round spacers were supplied with the gun. I did find that somewhat unusual.

Is there a shortage of 15 round magazines? Or am I just looking in the wrong places?

I am in the market for a 2.0 Compact 9mm.

I am assuming these 15 round magazines are strictly for this particular model?

MidwayUSA has the 15 round magazines available for $34.99 plus shipping (rate varies depending on how many you buy.) Greg Cote LLC (who I highly recommend) has them for $27.99 plus $4.99 shipping (I believe that's his standard shipping price no matter how many you buy.)

Yes...the 1.0 Compact held 12 rounds, and these 15 round magazines will not fit, nor will the 12 round mags fit the 2.0 compact (I haven't tried but that's what I've read.)

The full size 17 round magazines will fit the 2.0 compact with the supplied grip adapters (which is really nice that S&W includes.)

thank you sir!!

The grip is longer on the 2.0, so the 1.0 mags will not fit. Anything longer will fit, though. I have both, and just tried it.

Well, I got the 17 round 3-Pak for $64.99 ($21.66 each) and free shipping. I have the two adaptors that came with the gun.

The Shield 9mm 8 round mags are way cheaper and plentiful than the 7 rounders too.

Go figure. :D

yeah, sadly M&P 2.0 compact mags are at a premium as I assume they're being reserved for the guns themselves as they're just flying off shelves. give it a year or so and mags will be plentiful and cheap.

in the meantime the 2.0 compact came with two mag extensions to fit on the 17 round mags that have been around FOREVER (the 2.0 and 1.0 full size uses the same mags) and you can just toss them on the 17 rounders until the prices and availability are better for the 2.0 compact mags. It's what I'm doing.

2 15 round mags come with the gun and full size 17 round mags work just fine. I bought a couple of 17 rounders off of gunbtoker

Like Dave said, be careful if you see 15 round mags. Some states like CO restrict mags to 15 rounds. NJ used to but I think they just changed to 10. So these are Full size mags blocked to 15.

When I first bought my Compact 1.0, 10 round mags (I'm in CA) were nowhere to be found. Plenty of FS 10 round mags available. I just bought a bunch of xgrips until supply improved.

Nice find on the extra places to order mags from! I just wish I could find the adapters for sale. I guess I’ll call CS tomorrow and see if I can buy direct from them.

Maybe see if somebody on the forum that isn't using thier adaptors will sell them at a good price.

My 2.0 compact is showing up today and I've been looking for more mags. Ordered 4. Thanks for link!:)

You’re welcome. I received my Shield 45 OEM magazines from Mag Commander in 4-5 days. I keep them bookmarked now.
