My M&P vs Glock shoot out.
Guns, Glock 19 gen 2 and M&P 2 compact 4" 9mm. M&P left target.
This is how "I" shot these 2 guns today. Same ammo shooting 5 rounds each going back and forth @ 10 yards
The Glock shot high at first and had more felt recoil even vibrating into my hand. The M&P felt softer shooting almost like a 22. The Glock had more muzzle flip, but was controllable.
I was combat shooting. Meaning as soon as the front sight was on target I fired again. No slow bullseye shooting. If the sight was near the center I fired.
This only say's how I shot each gun, someone else might do better or worse with each.
It was kind of hard switching guns back and forth like this, more so going to the Glock.
I definitely have different groups with these guns.

I have a G19 and a 9MM EZ. The EZ seems to have softer recoil than the G19. This doesn't seem right but that's how it feels to me. I haven't shot them side by side so I can't comment on that. The trigger is much better on the EZ............

Some people shoot Glock's better, some don't. Sadly, I have not had the opportunity to shoot any of the M&P line, but have shot Glocks. The Glocks did ok for me, but in terms of grip, the M&P line feels more comfortable in my hands. If it's more comfortable to grip, then odds are it is going to shoot better. Maybe one day I will "upgrade" from my trusty and well tested 6946.

The difference between the M&P and the Glock is - price. I wanted a Glock 17 for a long time until I shot one for a while and felt no different than my old M&P9 1.0. Glocks are good guns but not objectively better than the M&P particularly if you like the S&W Trigger. Reasonable minds may differ.

You did a thorough job of killing both targets. Archer, not the bow...

I'm not sure what S&W is thinking, unless they are concerned about durability of the M&P with the 10mm Auto cartridge.

They probably wouldn't sell enough 10mm to make it worth selling them.
Pretty much still an oddball.

They're probably thinking the same thing that HK is, that 10mm is a niche cartridge and not worth it unless a large government agency wants it in a contract. HK similarly is very unlikely to ever make a 10mm again unless the FBI decides they actually want to go back.

Glock has 5 different models, spanning 4 frames, and 3 slides. Its worthwhile for them and Springfield.

My opinion....
S&Ws feels good to shoot.
Glock doesn't feel good to shoot.

I was issued a G23 for the last 10 yrs of my career but never warmed up to it. About a year ago I purchased the M&P 2.0 Compact 4” 9MM and realized how much fun shooting these modern guns could be. Better value for the money and fits my hand like a glove.

Well, I made a choice. M&P it is. I sold my Glock 19 today. That was my plan when I bought the M&P. But I wanted to be sure so I kept both for a while comparing them.

I had a couple of G17 gen 5 vs. M&P9 shootouts lately.
This is for EDC.
Bottom line: M&P's for sale; G17 is new EDC.
And I agree with OP. G17 feels a slight bit more recoil, but I still shoot it better.

The most obvious difference between Glock and M&P is the grip angle. I don't care for the G angle but I can do OK w/ my wife's G19-4 if I need to. I much prefer my M&P9c.

I have a 17, 19 and a M&P 2.0 compact 9mm I got last spring. My handle is telling and from when I was a die hard glock fan, but I wouldn’t say fanboy. I always liked the ergos of the original M&P but never was a fan of the trigger. The 2.0 changed that, Unfortunately the ammo scarce and panic we’ve faced I haven’t shot much the last year plus and only have a couple hundred through the M&P.
I was having issues with the slide not locking back, I think this was user error since I’m used to glocks and haven’t tried it with the larger grip panels. On paper it’s a roll of the dice in my hands between the two different platforms. I stashed it away last summer for a rainy day when ammo comes back down and we can go out and play again. Really was hoping to have it as a new carry option but that didn’t work out as planned. For now the 19 has been keeping the roles of CCW.
End of the day both are nice guns for the price point.
