Extended magazine for the Shield 1.0

The only mag I know of is Promag. Some have reported success, others failure. I'm the the failure column for my full size M&P 1.0 and Mini14.

If you haven't come across it yet, Magguts makes a +2 kit.

Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm +2 MagGuts

NDZ and Hyve make +2 mag extensions. There are likely others.

I prefer the XTECH Tactical + 2 mag extension. Comes with dedicated spring. Easy, no tools & no extra screw installation, works great and co$t$ $20 vs Maguts & others co$ting $30+. Converts 8 shot mag to 10 or 7 mag to 9. Then with one in chamber & mag "topped off" gives 10 to 11 capacity. Worth checking out.

I use the Magguts kits. Mine have fed reliably. They also don't add much length to the magazines, only about 1/4".

I have been very impressed with the Magguts +2.

I have also tried extenders from Hyve and Strike Industries but the Magguts is what I carry.

I have the Magguts +2 kit installed on several of my Shield mags. Probably 1000 rounds between them without any malfunctions. I'm using the 7 round mags, but the kit works in both the 7 and 8 round mags.

I'm trading a bolt rifle with a buddy for his Shield 9mm 2.0 (he just got a plus) he installed a Hyve +2 on the 8 round to make it a 10+1. Says its flawless. Will be my first M&P.
