Hi Guys,

New to the S&W world with a new M&P 2.0 Compact 4". Love the grip texture, however I bought primary for a summer carry gun and have noticed while carrying without a t-shirt the grip is eating me alive. Wondered if you all have the same issue and what potential IWB holsters out there might cover the grip. Really don't want to resort to under shirts in the summer.

Thanks Shepp

I have the same issue with the Shield Plus and it’s wearing out my clothes, too. If your frame isn’t Cerakote, you can try getting some 400grit sandpaper and lightly go over the areas that are rubbing on you.

These work very well. You'd want the rubber version.

I carry an M&P9 PC Shield Plus in a Crossbreed Appendix IWB holster. It has a comfortable leather backing to prevent any rubbing or chafing. You'll want that aggressive grip texture for summer carry should you have to draw with sweaty hands! I'm down here in sunny humid Florida, and believe me I know. I am going to add one of those teardrop-shaped foam pads to the inside of my holster to keep the barrel pushed away and the grip in tight to my body. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Yeah I definately do not want to cover up the agressive texture if I can manage otherwise, feels awesome in the hand, not so much against my back or side. Hawg which IWB do you have? I looked at the Crossbreed site for a minute and didn't see one that looked like it would keep the grip off me.

I have the same gun and used a light grit sandpaper to take the grips down a bit. Do it slowly until it’s comfortable for you.

I also have the same gun and the same issue. I was hesitant but finally did take some fine sandpaper and lightly sanded the areas that were against my skin. It worked very well and now I can carry iwb against bare skin and not have any irritation. Didn’t notice any difference in the grip when shooting, and if anything I now like it better. Just take it slow and keep trying it in the holster until it doesn’t feel sharp against the skin.

Sticky Holster Comfort Pads

I purchase Sticky Holsters Comfort Pads for all my holsters, makes all my kydex holsters very comfortable and due to the velcro pads you can reposition them as needed to keep the abrasive or hard spots of the holsters at bay.

Same here, I just took some sandpaper and without putting hardly any pressure went slowly until the grip wasn't rubbing my skin raw anymore.

You only need to sand very lightly until it's comfortable for you. It will not diminish the grip texture at all, and I only did the side that goes up against me.

It will look a little faded at first but I took care of this with an optics lens brush and a little light solvent.

Thanks guys, I may give the sandpaper a shot or practice on one of the other sized grips to see how it looks after they are knocked down a bit.

Take a look at N8 Holsters.

They are the most comfortable IWB holster out there.

I don't like and rarely use IWB but when I do that is what I go with.

You might want to try the rubber Talon grip. It wont add much to the size of the grip and is very comfortable. Also easily removed if you dont like it.

I just wear a tshirt and throw a loose fitting shirt over top, conceals better anyway especially if you wear a shirt with a pattern to break it up. I don’t like putting rubber on the grip because it can stick to the shirt and cause printing.

These N8's do look interesting 326- think I will try one! Thank you all for your responses. Thought I posted a link but it didn't come through.
