If you look closely at the Taran Tactical, the groove is closer to the bottom of the pad so no spacer needed.
Another option is Magguts.com.

I've used the Magguts +2 in 8 rounders.
They've been flawless and add very little to the length.

I have XTech Tactical +2 on my 8 round Shield 9mm mags. I did not try on the 7 round mags. They work well. I have a different extension of my 40 Shield mags. Called E.M.P. Enhanced Magazine Plate. It adds 1 round to the 40 Shield mags. Box says it adds +2 to the 9mm mag. I plan to try one to see if it works.

I have the MagGuts +2's in both the 7 and 8 rounders that came with my Gen 1 Shield. They have functioned as well with those as they did at the stock capacity. I carry it with the shorter mag for a 9+1 and can carry a spare with 10 rounds. At that capacity I never felt the need to go with a Shield Plus. If I think I might be more comfortable with more ammo than the Shield offers with the extensions, I just carry a bigger gun.

Thankis, everyone.
With the aftermarket 2 round magazine extensions, have you had any problems with the magazines feeding all 10 rounds and/or durability?

I would if I could, but I'm in California and only the Shield 1.0 is on the roster.

The Taran Tactical +2 ones (for the Shield) worked 100% for me. I use them now in another brand of gun too

The EMP is made by Strike Industries. It added a couple rounds to my 7rd and 8rd Gen 1, 9mm magazines. They looked a lot like the ones in the OP’s picture. They worked great and the price was right.

I’ve been using the XTech +2 and been very happy, haven’t had a malfunction in the year + I’ve been using them.

You can buy them through the Strike Industries website or MidwayUSA. I'm sure there are more places they can be purchased. I bought mine at my LGS years ago.

Just bear in mind,
From the SI site:
"NOTE: Made for 7 round 9mm magazines and 6 round .40 cal magazines. The EMP+2 WILL work on the larger capacity factory magazines but with a noticeable gap between the EMP and pistol grip. The factory spacer will not fit flush with the EMP without slight modification. "

BTW, the ebay ones you first posted bear a remarkable similarity to the SI ones.

I have never heard of anyone having issues with magguts +2. So I personally would go with that brand. YMMV

I would go with Taran or Hyvee if you are wanting a 2 round extension for the 8 round mags. Ive got plenty of rounds through my Hyvees and they are great. Never used the Tarans, but they are highly regarded in the industry.
