Default New M&P 2.0 compact

Good morning everyone, I just picked up a new M&P 2.0 compact with 4” barrel and night sights for an unbelievably low price. I am going to use it as my new EDC since I retired from Law enforcement. So here is my question for everyone. For those of you with this type gun what are you using as a holster? The grips are very stippled so I will definately have to wear an undershirt with this gun but how are y’all carrying it? What are you using? I’m used to leather owb holsters as I have carried this way my whole life but looking to also try iwb holsters out.

You can always sand down the texture to a point that works for you . I several full size 40sw M&P's both early production and a 2.0 , also a 2.0 4" compact . I have 20 years with a couple Comp-Tac hybrid holsters . One is a discontinued model but still a good holster and a MTAC model for my m&p's . I wear at a 3:00 position and wear no under shirt . I also have a bit of spare tire yet no rubbing that I have ever noticed . I'm 5-9 and 205 old man and carried at work thru 30 of those years as a hands on custom home builder . I get by with a carhart t-shirt that fits my shoulders well but with there option of a fuller cut around the waist and my arms aids with concealment in general .

My other CC handgun is a lw commander in 45 . Open carry is legal in NC but I never cared to advertise !! These holster are tuckable if thats wanted . I wear a square tail button down shirt over the years when looking better is needed .

Thanks for your response. I obviously open carried as a cop with my duty belt and in detectives clothing but that was with a safariland ALS holster. I have always carried my off duty Glocks and S&W revolvers in OWB holsters with large button downs or larger t shirts. I am also 5’9” 205 with a spare tire, I am old also obviously since I am a retired cop after 30 years. I have just never found IWB holsters comfy for my build.. I may just stay with an OWB but I want to find one that does work and is comfy

Mitch Rosen Express 5JR-EXP

I own 5 of these holsters for various firearms and think they are great. Nothing fancy, just a well executed leather holster that arrives in weeks not months.

One other option regarding the stilppling, is to consider applying a set of Talon Grips. I’ve used them for years on my Shield Plus. They are comfortable against your skin and provide a sure grip on the pistol.

I lightly sanded the inside grip to make it slightly less abrasive against my undershirt.

I have a JM Custom Kydex AIWB holster for my M&P 2.0 full size that would also work for a compact. It took a few weeks to get, but I'm happy with the end result.

They also make IWB and OWB holsters, but I've no experience with their offerings there.

It helps that I may have gotten lucky with the couple holster choices I have used over my 37 years of CC make IWB comfortable . My MTAC is comfortable enough that after all the years I have CC'd I find my self still doing elbow checks to be sure I have my holster on and then there's a handgun in it! I will say I hate kydex only holsters . Good luck .

I do have 1 leather holsters but time used is low . It is a Aker Yauki slide I will wear when scouting before or after hunting season . It has about 10* carry angle, works well for 3:00 carry with a m&p 4.25 or 4" barrel and has a cut out in the back side so it fits over belt loops .

If you want to eliminate the undershirt, you might try Talon Black Rubber Grips. I put these on one of my EDC's that is carried frequently and they solved the skin irritation for me. They can be easily removed if you don't like them, leaving your pistol in original condition. Mine have stood up well for 8 years now with no sign of wear or loosening. Forgot to mention that you can also get matching grips for the extended mags as well if you're using them. I also put these on all my Shield 9 1.0 extended mags. Here's the link:
