My Bodyguard 2.0 will soon be here, and I'll naturally want to change out the front sight to a fiber optic of some sort. I'm just wondering if the sights on the 2.0 are the same as the 1.0 or perhaps the Shield. I want to think S&W didn't want to reinvent the wheel as far as these sights go, but I'm just not sure. Any thoughts on the matter?

TIA....

Completely different than the M&P Bodyguard .380.
When you get it, you may be disappointed if you already spent money on a fiber optic set up. Wider u rear sight, nice night glow with daytime orange front sight.

Nope, haven't spent any $$ on new sights, and was forgetting the 2.0 had the front sight you mentioned. YAY!

>>nice night glow with daytime orange front sight<<

Picked the gun up today, and while the front sight is ok, it's not going to work for me in the long run. Unfortunately, S&W informed me that the front dovetail on the 2.0 is unique to that particular gun, so until someone comes up with a f/o replacement I'm stuck with the one that's on it. Oh well, no biggie....

I got an OEM bodyguard rear and put it on my 2.0, but it’s a little too narrow (though I still prefer it to the wide notch). I can’t wait for aftermarket sights.

The role of the BG 2.0 is a defensive pistol. Not a target or range toy. God forbid I have to draw it to save my bacon, I doubt I will be concerned with obtaining a sight picture that will achieve equal amounts of light on both sides of the front sight. With the wide notch rear, bringing that front sight on target as fast as I can at 5'-21' feet will give me the confidence I will get a hit. I do wish the orange was the front was brighter.

I handled the 2.0 for the first time today. The sights are ridiculous. You could drive a Humvee through the rear notch, for a tiny little front sight. Probably OK for minute-of-dinnerplate @ 15 feet, but it's tiresome for any kind of accuracy or precision. If one doesn't have the ability to hit anything past 10-15 feet I guess it doesn't matter.

I kind of like the sights. It would be nice if the front was a little brighter but the wide rear does not bother me.

At 15 feet more like minute of shot glass. LOL

I use a combat hold and just put the front dot on target center .

Really not trying to center front sight in rear. Just kind of aligns it self like a aperture sight on a rifle.

Works for me. Your mileage may vary .

I received the set today and thought "what the hell" it only cost sixty so I tried it and sure enough, it's too loose in there but not from the sight dovetail front to back width but because of the thickness top to bottom. The BG2.0 sight dovetail is much thicker top to bottom. I tried to dimple the sight, but screwed it up and it's in the trash, so I put the factory one back in for now. I didn't try to change out the rear sight and will leave everything alone until someone makes a set that's made for the BG2.0
The set I had ordered was a Tru-Glo and as you can see in the photos, they are bigger and brighter than the factory one, day or night.
Like me, we had to be the guineas with sights - now we know that LCP Max and original BG sights won’t work!

Got my BG2.0 the way I want it. The rear sight is a Tru-Glo made for the original Bodyguard and works well. The front sight is a Tru-Glo made for the S&W Shield EZ9 and though very close, can be pushed in by hand. I used Permatex orange threadlocker and it's not going anywhere without being driven out. Ran two boxes of ammo through it without any movement. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

This should work by the measurements. Full size S&W has dovetail length at 6.5mm The Shield version has a dovetail length of 6.8mm so I'm guessing the Full Size will work because the Bodyguard 2.0's front dovetail is 6.5mm. All other measurements are the same. Don't take the rear sight off, keep it in place. It should sit perfectly in the "U" of the rear sight. don’t try this at home like I did. If they actually make one for the Bodyguard 2.0 it will be awesome. This fit too loosely. Perfect if they size it for the bodyguard 2.0

Can't you guys figure a way to shim the sights that are just a tad loose?

There are a couple of ways to go about this îf they're not way too loose.

You could cut off a small section of an aluminum can as a shim. You could also peen the sight with a center punch to add resistance.

Didn’t want to bother. I could actually buy the 6.8mm version and it would be great but still wouldn’t sit flush on top of the slide.

A few months waiting for the aftermarket to produce better sights won't kill me. I've been well protected before this new model pistol came along.
