Hello, First post so will see if this was worth sharing.

Pics below of new Bodyguard 2.0 with Tijicon mount plate and cheap ADE optic. Just wanted to post so others can decide what they want (or specifically might not want.)

I’m a retired 26 year LEO that wears glasses with progressive lenses. I now have dots on all my handguns. Just where I am in life, and I still want to be able to hit targets from the other end of a supermarket aisle.

Didn’t ask what you think about it, but feel free. Again, posting to show what it looks like in this configuration. Not to stir controversy of optics vs IT ISN’T THAT KIND OF PISTOL.

Love the weight and size of the new BG 2.0. Great option for small AIWB and occasional pocket. Don’t see it being my daily, just an option for treking, cycling and low-profile.

Range day tomorrow, so will decide to keep it on, or revert.

What plate is that as in the dovetail is the same as what other gun?

Who says "...it is not THAT kind of pistol", anyway?

Just as an aside, I enjoy a Rikon red dot on one of my SCCY CPX-3 380acps with a factory slide cut for direct mounting a Shield RMS or RMSc footprint: slide is also cut for G43 etc. sights, which can co-witness.

Cheers!

P.S. I don't doubt at all the Bodyguard 2.0 has a better trigger, but...

The mount is a Trijicon RMRcc plate for the original Bodyguard. Fits 100% without mods. I understand the front sights are different between the two versions though.

The dot measures out at .941” width. My 507k measurement is .957” but 1.01” at the full battery tray width.

I actually own a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm, and it’s very similar to your BG 2.0. I recommend this as well, since I think they are interchangeable

Won't one of the Galloway Precision plates also fit? Seem very similar for 1/4 of the price.

Optic Mount Plate for Smith & Wesson M&P 380 Shield EZ Pistols

No idea, don’t see measurement for plate width on that site. The Trijicon RMRcc was $40 on eBay and is thin and narrow. Went with that. Lots of other options. I just didn’t see any pics on the web for the new Bodyguard 2.0 with optic, so I posted mine for others to see. Not selling the idea of brands to use.

Range report

Range report big thumbs up. Shot 200rnds Win white box. 15 yard medium pace fire on dot targets. Small plate shots were all at 25yrds. No FTF, FTE, etc. I did ride the slide stop with my off hand thumb almost every time. When purposely kept it clear, locked back after last round. Hornady Critical Defense fed 100% (used to drag on ramp of my G43.) Fantastic little pistol that shoots well above the price point. Barrel does heat up, but look at how thin it is in the pic. Saving the weight. Not a firearm I’m going to be shooting alot at one time. It is SUPER comfortable to shoot. I used to have a PF9 that was snappy as hell. The trigger was gritty out of the box, but is fine now and getting better with use.

Range report update: Forgot to add praise for that textured spot on the left side of frame. That spot really lets you control this small pistol for holding steady & recoil.

OP - not a fan as I love the compact, pocket carry ability of the BG 2.0. An optic on this tiny pistol to me defeats this purpose. This is the only pistol I found that I can pocket carry and enjoy shooting. My LCP Max (now gone), fit my pocket but I did not enjoy shooting it. If this works for you and others that's awesome.

BTW, I'm a big fan on red dots and have them on all other carry and HD pistols.

I don't think I'll go this route, but I appreciate you doing this and posting pics and results for science.

More hate incoming

I now am sporting a suppressor height front sight to line up with my built in optic sight cut. Looking a bit funky but this isn’t a show pony. Full co-witness. Holster had a nice high sight channel. Bad guy may laugh at my itty-bitty gun anyway. Already comfortable with the shame.

Not looking to prompt all the hate or disagreement. Not for you, I get it. I carry this AIWB, never in the pocket. As above, posting pics for science. Weird science.

3d printed out of, “space age polymer.” Carbon infused PLA.

Interesting approach, but not for me. I’m a huge fan or red dot optics, but not a fan of optic plates mounted on the RS dovetail. Others might find this approach to be just what they want/need, so thanks for sharing!

I have a first edition of the Sig P365 with an optic on a Outer Impact dovetail mount. It has been rock solid since installation with NO movement at all. I easily hit 8" steel plates at 30 yards all day long. The Wilson Combat grip module makes for better purchase than the OEM.

Tips for Sight Removal/Plate Install?

Hello, First post so will see if this was worth sharing.

Thx so much for sharing. I plan to do the same on mine. I have a sight pusher... any tips for removing the rear sight and installing the plate? It looks like standard wisdom is to push the sight out from the ejection port side.
