What optics fit a new Shield Plus PC?
I just got this pistol today. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product...lus-carry-comp
Now I want to put an optic on it. The Holosun HS507K-X2 has a modified RMSc footprint.
I really don't like adapter plates, so would rather find an optic that fits directly.
Anybody BTDT?

Take a look at the Vortex Defender. I believe it is a direct mount optic for the Shield with the RMSc footprint.

From what I've read, unlike the older versions of the Shield/Shield Plus the Shield Plus Carry Comp have the new Holosun K/modified RMSc cut that omits the back posts. This theoretically allows Holosun K pattern optics to direct mount.
However, I've read that some of them have the negative cant to the optics cut that some of the older Shield/Shield Plus had, potentially making zeroing those Holosuns impossible.
My Shield Plus had that issue; I sent the slide to Nameless Armament to delete the back posts and level the cut.

To the OP, your link shows the Carry Comp, SKU 13990. I've got the same gun.
I know others will not approve, but I put a Crimson Trace RAD Micro Green Dot on mine. Perfect fit with no plate required and it comes with the correct screws. I got it on Amazon for $138.99 and see the red dot for 122.39 right now.
I've got three CT's (two green and one red dot) on different M&Ps and all have had no problems - direct mount, co-witness, easy to zero and won't break the bank.
I know the battery on the bottom is an issue with some but my oldest is over two years old and the original battery is still going strong. I've removed one and it held it's zero when remounted, so no big deal to me.
Out of curiosity, did your Carry Comp come with a beveled striker block?

I like my Holosun 507 enough that I'd bother with the adapter plate to use it. It really is a great small pistol optic.

I would be wary of buying any used non-XL Defenders.
Vortex quietly updated the LED emitter and auto shut-off time in the Defender line when the XL variant launched. The original had a 14 hour auto-shut-off, the current models have a 10 minute auto shut-off (both have shake-awake). This will functionally result in better battery life in the newer models.
People have also reported a better/faster refresh rate on the updated models. It doesn't bother some people, but a low refresh rate bugs a lot of people, particularly during quick target transitions.

Well, it's a Vortex, so...
Cheers!
P.S. The last (and not the 1st) Vortex Viper I purchased (just over $110 new, an OPMOD model from OP) came out of the safe on a M&P 40 for a trip to the range and... Just wouldn't turn on. Two new batteries later I called Vortex. In about an hour I had a shipping label. Three days later an e-mail indicating it wasn't repairable and that a new Defender ST was on the way.
It really doesn't get any better than that, customer service-wise!

Good info, thank you. The other options are frankly all spendy. I have more than one pistol to equip with optics. Big family.
Send me a pic of your striker block and I'll compare mine. It's still in the box, not put in service yet. Carrying a G17 lately, just to embrace the AIWB pain so I'll appreciate the Shield Plus more later.

Here's a link to the thread showing the square edged striker block that came in mine. S&W says they have sent the correct one by mail but I haven't received it yet.

I took your advice and just ordered one. We're a big fam, all adults EDC, so a $100 savings adds up overall. Thanks again.
