People are saying on the net its silverbear in a black box. you can get just a 100 rounds for $32.45 shipped to try it out. Thats pretty reasonable I thought. I put a link above that pic.

I personally like Silver Bear, I have shot about 300 rounds of it. It was decently accurate and gave me no malfunctions. At that price it is sure worth a try. Plus you can clean up your brass with an old speaker magnet...LOL

+1......I've shot close to 1,000 rounds of it recently in my MP-15 without a single misfeed, misfire or FTE. Was surprised at its accuracy for the price. Great choice for those seeking cheap, reliable ammo and are not concerned about reloading.

I was reading over in the gunsnob forum (that wasnt nice, one of the other AR forums) and someone over there was claiming that you can reload the metal cases one time. I have actually thought about it but I dont want to mess up my dies. And I have a lot of brass cases but in an acronym situation I would consider the zinc coated cases.

They're beridan primed, you need a special tool to get the old primers out for reloading.
Gunslinger if you look it up at least Wolf and Tulammo is Boxer primed. Even the foreign ammo makers are getting away from Berdan Primers. I had to look it up but It is...when I go out to the barn I will grab a couple of old Silver Bear and try to run it through my sizing die!

Yeah, I was speaking (typing?) specificaly about the MFS being beridan.
Realoding steel shouldn't be to hard on carbide dies though.
I personally never have, but in an emergency situation it'd be better than throwing rocks.

Yeah a couple of rounds of silver bear just ran through my resizing dies real easy, a little lube, run em through and they are ready to clean and reload, I was seriously surprised. I dont think I am going to load them although it would be a good experiment. Maybe when I get some inexpensive plinking bullets I will try to reload 5 or so. or Maybe not!

I was in a gunshop today and they told me they reloaded Tulammo I believe it was. If not that it was Wolf Military or the Silverbear cant remember which one but was steel case ammo.

I have seen way too many split necks on steel cases to consider reloading them. On the 308 ammo, no split necks. On the .223, about 1-50 will split its' neck.

Since it costs about $220 per 1,000...... I don't bother trying to reload it.

I like this ammo for plinking, and I've personally never had a problem with it, even when shooting 500+ rounds in an afternoon. It is not my go to ammo for an emergency situation, but for burning up the range for an afternoon, it's hard to beat.

FYI: MFS is not Russian ammo. It's manufactured by MFS-2000 in Hungary, and it's not near as dirty to shoot as the Russian brands.
