I'd put my money on Larue. They built the mount and will not sell you something that will not work. No offense meant to Burris.

Thanks for the reply but theres something here that doesnt make sense. People mount the Burris sight on QD mounts made by ARMS and GG&G besides the mounts that are made by Burris. Those are the same mounts that take an ACOG sight. Understand why Im a little confused ? Look on the GG&G site. It clearly shows their mount with an ACOG. So if a Burris fits on that why wont it fit on the Larue ?

You could order it from LaRue and if it doesn't work, LaRue will refund your $ within 30 days.

That way you'd know who's right and only be out delivery from LaRue @ $8, return postage @ $3 and gas money.

That being said, I'd put my dough on the advice from LaRue cuz they seem to be square shooters.

If you do this, let us know who was right.

Just get the Burris QD mount like I did. The AR 332 has 2 screws on the bottom that makes some mounts difficult to use.

Same play I made. Why buy something that might work when you can buy something that does work.

Looking at the ACOG it looks like that also has two screws. The Larue mount has two holes. I was just partial to the Larue.

Just an update for those who are interested. Ive never been the kind of person that believes something that is questionable. I went on Bing images and did a search for Burris AR sights mounted on Larue mounts. First group of pictures shows an AR536 mounted on a Larue LT100 mount. I sent the guy that posted the picture an email. He gets back to me a few hours later saying it fit fine.
I called Larue yesterday. Spoke to a different salesman. Explained what I wanted to do. He tells me that the Burris fits their mount exactly the same way an ACOG fits. I told him what the other salesman told me and he said the guy is totally wrong. He went on to tell me that theres only 2 other salesmen besides him and theres a folder for each of their products that they can go to for info on what fits. He was going to update both of the other guys so they now know the Larue works with the Burris AR sights.
Mine was shipped late yesterday and I should have it Wednesday.

I have the same Burris and am using the LaRue RCO mount. That I can say works great.

The LT100 mount came yesterday. When I went to put the screws in, it seemed the Larue screws were a size smaller than the Burris. The Burris screws will not fit through the holes on the Larue mount. The odd thing is after tightening the Larue screws it seemed to be fine. It felt like there was a little play in the threads side to side but as I tightened them down they locked into the hole tight.

I have three LaRue mounts and have bought two Aimpoints (T-1 & H-1) from them.

LaRue is a standup manufacturer ... totally good guys and a credit to the industry.

I'm a retired gun writer; I've pretty much seen it all. The firearms industry is full of all kinds of folks; literally the good, the bad and the horribly ugly.

The guys and gals at LaRue are FABULOUS and I've learned to trust them totally.

The same comments may be said of the folks at Noveske. I knew John (RIP, my good friend) and he would be incredibly proud of the way his wife and his incredible crew have fought through tragedy and continued to supply a superior AR.

It is so wonderful to see GREAT folks in the firearms industry.

May God Bless Your Day,

Steve

Hi All,
I also just purchased a LaRue LT100 for my AR332 and ran into the same issue with the mounting screws. The LaRue screws seem too loose. The original Burris screws seem to be larger in diameter almost measuring out to a 5.0mm (.197" diameter) screw vs. a 10-32 (which is .190"). The LaRue screws measured out to .190 just like a 10-32 should. But what really got my attention were the threaded holes in the the sight. Both threaded holes have helicoil thread inserts in them.

Did your Burris 332 have thread inserts?

P.S. New to the forum and first post.

UPDATE:
Burris does indeed use 5.0mm metric screws. 5.00mm x 0.8mm metric thread pitch is basically identical to a 10-32 screw. That's why the LaRue screws were too loose. They are essentially .007" of an inch in diameter too small. Went to the hardware store and picked up a couple of new high grade 5mm button head screws and they fit perfect with full thread engagement.

Thread Pitch Calculation
32 TPI: 1/32 = 0.03125"
0.8mm TPI: = 0.031496"

P.S. I didn't use the old Burris screws because they were not button heads (like the LaRue screws) and because the head of the screws were so big/tall they protruded way above the LT100 mounting hole countersink leaving the potential for interference with the upper flat top rail. The new 5mm metric screws sat in the countersink perfectly.
