Folks, a word to the wise. I just purchased a new S & W Equalizer 9mm. Looks awesome and shoots awesome. I read all the write ups on this gun and the product performance write up that S&W has on their website. "A new optic cut pattern allows the user to mount THEIR CHOICE of sight for enhanced accuracy." This is a total mis-representation by S&W! I have a new Burris Fastfire 3 Red Dot that I was going to mount. This cut will only accept certain optics which S&W does not mention. I emailed customer service and they suggested I look at C & H Precision for this optic adapter plate. AGAIN, not true. The Burris Fastfire has a Docter/Noblex footprint and the slide cut (according to S&W Customer Service is for any optic with an SMS footprint)!! C & H said they would be happy to mill me an adapter plate to the tune of $185! Ain't gonna happen! Anybody got any suggestions for what I can do? Apparently NOBODY makes an adapter at this time for this particular mount. I guess this is a "hurry up and wait to see" if any of these enterprising aftermarket gun parts shops come up with something to make this work. Just pisses me off that I am looking at my Red Dot sitting in the box and currently of no use to me.
